Bristol Rovers were today promoted for the third season on the trot at Wembley Stadium, goals from Ryan Broom, and a Matty Taylor double saw The Gas ease to a 3-0 victory against Bradford City. Rovers who have been on a remarkable unbeaten run since a 3-1 defeat at Walsall in January dominated proceedings from start to finish. The Wembley win comes just days after Rovers announced work will start on the new UWE Stadium in a matter of weeks. President Wael Al Qadi said after the match "This is a truly wonderful way to finish one of the most important weeks in this clubs long history". Rovers took the lead in the sixth minute when January signing Jefferson Farfán slipped through Taylor who dinked the ball over the advancing Doyle. Rovers kept Bradford at arms length up to half time with dominating performances from Rovers centrebacks Tom Lockyer and Joe Partington showing the type of form that's seen them clinch a Playoff place. Rovers doubled their lead in the 57th minute when Ryan Broom only making his tenth start for the Gas cut in from the right hand side beating three men before lashing a shot from 25 yards in off the underside of Doyle's bar in what must truly be seen as one of the greatest goals at the new stadium. As Rovers cruised and Goodnight Irene bellowed around the new stadium Rovers broke through Chris Lines who moved out to the left wing before clipping a cross to Taylor at the back post who scorpion kicked the ball past the perplexed Doyle. After the game Rovers manager Darrell Clarke told the media "This one goes out to Blueiris off of Gasheads, what sort of wally would make up an incredibly long and daft fake news report from the future. Print that b'stard".
