Folk don't stay happy for long mind. Jaysus wept. Neither of our successive promotions was by a big enough margin, apparently, so it doesn't take much to set 'em off - they were background fuming already. I'll sit with you. Interesting posts, and I won't argue or disagree with either of you. But the applecart was upset initially by the manager, who in the run-up to January 1 speculating on the areas that he intended to strengthen in the window, and telling the local media that ''the funds were in place.'' There were also many other statements made to the press (I'm quite certain that I wasn't the only one to hear them) that several players were in the Last Chance Saloon. But I see that today he is ''frustrated by a lack of appreciation for double promotion winners.'' Now I have very few complaints about where we are, but it is the managers style to on occasion fire from the hip but he can't have it all ways. Mind you he appears to be about to deliver his first signing of the window, as we are allegedly closing in on a deal for Eastleigh defender Joe Partington. I always quite like Ryan Cresswell, who must be his close colleague. Always had a good game for Northampton and boy could they have done with him last Saturday!

He's acknowledged it's on his agenda and funds are available, so it's not like he's missing the point. My guess is he's aiming for the best deal, on all sorts of criteria, rather than grabbing the first available gk. Maybe I'm naive, but I think he's earned the benefit of the doubt.

So we may well go into Saturday and who knows beyond Saturday with just Puddy ..... this is my worst nightmare come true. Worst nightmare? Grow up. Yes worst nightmare .... no back up plan again about signing anyone and now being stuck with the weakest of the three keepers we had. You can shove your Grow up comment up your arse .... coming from someone like you its priceless!!

You're right to point out that it's the 12th day of a 31-day window, but rightly or wrongly I felt that the manager had done his research and that all the hard work had been done in the run-up to January 1. I'll hold my hands up at this point, and leave it to the posters capable of reading the bigger picture.

DC.is basically saying dont forget where we have come from. Doesnt mean he wont ship x player(s) out, but he will probably do it a better than some fanals calling x s**t
