So we may well go into Saturday and who knows beyond Saturday with just Puddy ..... this is my worst nightmare come true. Really don't get how he is still at the club . Looks like it will end up being another last minute panic goalkeeping signing to 'see us through' either in the window or emergency when the next calamitous cock up is made by the guy.
Appreciate we are not even halfway through the window yet but so far I am really disappointed at how quiet we have been other than losing one very decent but the rest very average loan signings. Had hoped we would have lined up signings before the window opened. My expectations of three permanents all bought and paid for by the new regime has been totally wiped away now.

I guess we have Hodges to sit on the bench, and who knows he may well be good enough and if he gets an opportunity he might take it.
Would I have liked a signing or two by now? yes, but than when you look at the business that has been done, does any of it jump out and say "That what we needed"

I'm generally still happy. And I'll criticize Darrell when I think he has made mistakes. Example: We haven't sorted out the goal-keeping situation.

Folk don't stay happy for long mind. Jaysus wept. But it's all about perspectives though, ennit? Now I haven't got the mental energy to trawl back through what was said by the manager in the run-up to the opening of the transfer window, but it was relatively specific to at least two playing positions . . . and we are now into Day 12 0f the window, so there is still a little leeway but the clock is ticking. But based on what was said I don't think that it's at all unreasonable to expect the team to be strengthened in line with what we had been led to believe, particularly the GK position. But to answer your point directly, then overall I am quite content.

Signing about to happen brizzle but he won't be playing in goal Our chances of signing someone today are about as high as me getting snowed in tomorrow and not being able to go to work but hey i'm happy to be proved wrong lol as for the keeper situation , all i can say is really ? we known now for months we needed a proper keeper not some clown on loan who could catch a cold let alone a ball. im sure DC has the word out, but as always our Darrell works smart he will only bring someone in if they are worth bringing in, why rush to sign a replacement keeper in Jan as a sticking plaster, pay over and above for anyone of any quality for their current club to release them. Puddy isn't all bad ( yes i know that like saying not all s**theads are arseholes ) if we have a strong back four which we don't they can take the pressure of the keeper, even the best keeper in the world need a back 4 to work with, if the opposition can fire shots at them with ease then sooner or later the little white leather thing ( are they still made from leather ? answers on a postcode please) is going to go past them. yes Roo's made some horrid mistakes and cost us points, but wish him well for his future, Puddy 29 now, not getting any younger and he must of shown DC something on the training pick for him to put him between the posts so maybe we should prioritise our defence before a keeper and give puddy a chance - que the abuse and comments telling me i don't know im on about ( which to be fair i don't half the time

Think Roos going back was unplanned, it leaves us short of keepers, Hodges played for the reserves on Tuesday but is on a work experience loan ( don't ask what that is, have no ideal ) at Paulton Rovers according to their manager Tony Rickets and is expecting him to play on Saturday as all his keepers are injured.

CountyGroundHotal: Mike Gibson: " arguably the greatest centre of any era and certainly, prior to his premature transfer to centre, the finest fly half of any era".

I think A work experience loan, is like a non-league loan outside the National league or something. I think it means they can play for us as well as the team they are on loan at. Obviously they cant be in two places at once though

Folk don't stay happy for long mind. Jaysus wept. Neither of our successive promotions was by a big enough margin, apparently, so it doesn't take much to set 'em off - they were background fuming already. I'll sit with you.

I was fairly annoyed at the goalkeeper situation at times in both the previous seasons and they turned out OK. Overall, I'm perfectly happy with DC's management but I wish he'd sort this out. It can't be that hard to find a tall keeper a couple of years either side of 30 that's been around the block and can organise a defence.
