Puddy did make one superb save to deny them a third goal but ref gave a goalkick. Distribution good in difficult wet and windy conditions. Boateng did well in a creative role and deserves more game time. We did not miss Leads ....over rated in my opinion and a poor defender. Taylor contributed well and caused their defence problems and clearly carrying a calf injury and is a vital or shall I say irreplaceable in the side with his fantastic goals record ...30 goals in the calendar year of 2016. we all see a different game but i thought we missed leadbitter running down the wing and it helped secure the win when he came on.

I agree! That's part of Rory charm, he is hard working and runs the flanks to collect the ball. He's not a conventioal target man. If we had one of them, good in the air, whom would put in the crosses yesterday bearing in mind we played no naturally wide winger? The diamond system relies on the wing backs for width, I like Danny Leadbitter but his crossing is inconsistent. I would prefer out and out wingers but that means strong central midfielders, maybe one winger who can switch wings and use either foot to cross is the answer. The way I see it is that with the diamond system you have a flat back four, unless you play one up front. Wing-backs are employed with three central defenders in place. That said, you do rely on the full-backs for crosses, but they are much rarer and it's leaves you exposed at the back if they do push forwards. I'm not a big fan of the diamond, because of the lack of width it produces, but there are instances when it can be employed - when you're chasing games, or trying to break teams down, like against D&R last season. And apart from a couple of times at the start of the season I think Danny has whipped some great crosses in.

... and they had a great chance with a one-on-one to get back to 3-3. ... Dec 11, 2016 17:24:15 GMT The Concept said: Oh, and a word for Puddy ... He didn't have a great deal to do and couldn't do a lot about the goals, but his distribution was excellent. That was all aspects: from hand, the ground, from pass-backs, and under pressure. Did Puddy get a hand to that shot that would have made it 3-3? The ref gave a goal-kick, but the Bury players chased furiously after the ref to appeal for the corner. At the time, I thought it was a save. Even if he didn't get a hand to the ball, his positioning must have been good to get the forward to shoot wide. You could well be right there, and that would make sense. Unfortunately, with 6 goals scored, I can't find the incident in the highlights package. I did see Bury players shouting and moaning, but assumed that it was at their own player for blasting it wide. There was quite a bit of that, with their players having a go at each other. You see No.10 going mental on both our first two goals, and from a video I've seen from behind the goal, the defenders weren't happy with the goalkeeper on Ollie Clarke's long-range strike.
