Only 1 player out of the many Warnock has managed doesn't say much does it and I wonder if the said MP would be brave enough to make that claim outside of his protected bubble.Puncheon is a disgruntled person because Warnock was not impressed with his attitude and shipped him out as soon as he could.I know he is not everyones cup of tes but he has done a good job wherever he has worked and on the couple of occasions I met him seems a normal person who loves the game

Parliamentary privilege is an absolutely vital democratic power that stops the rich and powerful from using the courts to unduly silence criticism. However, in this instance, I think the MP has made an error in using it here.
I believe he was making a point about the FA being lax in investigating claims rather than flat out calling Warnock corrupt - but it was a poor choice of target given that there must be plenty out there who look far, far dodgier. However, football in general has a major problem with a lack of transparency and a tendency towards a 'you scratch my back I'll scratch yours' style old boys network protecting our own mentality that does rather leave it open to these kind of accusations and insinuations. Pretty sure if he did mention it in public then Warnock would not touch it with a barge poll due to the can of worms potential.

Just to add to the discussion is the fact that Puncheon withdrew his accusation and issued a public apology to NW a few weeks after his tweet, perhaps the MP should keep up to date with his information and make sure his allegations are correct and not use his protected position to attack a man over an untruth

I imagine he was probably badly advised. Nevertheless, football has a massive cultural problem. If it was more transparent in its dealings then this would not even have been a story.

Are you sure about that or just relying on the sensational traps that the unwary fall into set by unscrupulous hacks who will do anything to get a headline. What sort of transparency do you require and what exactly do you mean by cultural problem

Badly advised? He is a highly paid public representative surely he should have checked the facts himself before making himself look stupid.or is that a prerequisite for being an MP
