What is the logic in a free ticket only being given to a corresponding season ticket? i.e. a concession season ticket could only get a free concession Fleetwood ticket and so on. Anyone know why this is?

I don't know, but here's my guess. If we assume the dual objectives of: - turning a potential 7,500 crowd into a 10,000 crowd
- promoting future attendance amongst youngsters who might not otherwise get taken to a game.
With an adult season ticket, you get an adult free ticket. That satisfies the first objective. But you're not prohibited from using the adult free ticket to admit a child, so that could potentially satisfy the second objective. If you've got a child season ticket, you can get a child free ticket. That satisfies both objectives. By not allowing free adult tickets for each child season ticket, it gets more youngsters into the ground, thus protecting the second objective. Edit: Oh, you said concession...meaning "senior". So one oldie could invite a child or another oldie...OK, I'm not sure of the logic of that! :-)

Like above, probably primary reason to boost crowd in standing areas.
With the idea maybe an extra pasty/programme would be bought too?
Perhaps the concept is a season ticket holder can bring someone new as an introduction to the Gas? So even if a handful return out of a couple of thousand (like for like, including concessions), it's worth it for a low profile fixture that otherwise might pass as unnoticed.
A clever loss leader marketing ploy by the club that allows everyone to feel they have got something out of it..

I think the original question is why can't a kids ticket get a free adults ticket. And given either ticket would be free, I can't think of a good answer.

I know someone who has a concession season ticket (over 65 years of age) and he wasn't able to obtain a free child's ticket to bring his young grandson. He was only able to get a free over 65s ticket. Just seems plain daft and I don't get the logic at all.

Agree with the OP. I have a 65+ ST so had to have a ticket for another 65+. Don't like to appear ungrateful, but not all of my friends are over 65, and my son certainly isn't!

Clever marketing ploy...be grateful for free tickets whatever they are. Any new fans welcome and they may wish to return Boxing Day against "how the mighty have fallen" Coventry City.

An absolutely excellent, generous offer messed up slightly by the small details in a very Rovers way.
Will they even check at the turnstiles though? A free ticket is a free ticket.

Can I use my free Swindon travel ticket to get to this game? Are they doing a beamback in Yates Wine Bar Swindon?
