I bet that if he ever looks at that the surely he must wonder if it was worth it ? It brutally aged him & made him look very unwell. I may not have liked him but I don't wish stress and the effects upon anyone. Seems we all have to learn the hard way. A wise person in business looks for support from experts in respective fields to help them achieve success, the other option is to go alone, listen to no one, reject help, and ultimately fail.

no pain no gain....patience is a virtue....hated every minute we played at Bath ..and waited ten, long years before we returned home...albeit it was a Rugby ground, but back in Bristol. Twerton was a special time for me (well maybe nt all of it!). Very fond memories of watching the Gas there. It was us against the world and we had a magnificent time under Gerry (first time obviously). However, it was unsustainable as is the Mem in the long run if we are to progress and become at least a Championship side.

I love Wael, but even he will have to pull a rabbit out of a hat to get anything built in Bristol. He would never of come against so many NIMBYs; I gave up on the new ground many years ago, and building a training ground at Almomdsbury, with all those ******* who live in a ******** bubble, no chance !

What impact can NIMBYs have on the stadium now? Oh that's right, none. Wael could start work on it today, if he chose to.

From what I am reading the Almondsbury NIMBYS are kicking off about the application for the training ground, thats not going to sort out any time soon; the new stadium at the UWE, I really don't know where to start, this fiasco has been running for years, in the meantime, the UWE have gone ahead and already built their new Business School, so why would they sell their land to BRFC ? which I understand has become some sort of show stopper.

The Almondsbury nimbys are entitled to their view, but they won't get anywhere. The planning permission already exists. Its just the decision of a planning officer to amend a condition that's required, no committee, no discussion, no flip-flopping like we're used to. The years-long fiasco had little to do with the current owners, did it?

I've lived in Kingswood most of my life, but I'm still a Bristolian.
The ONS use a definition of the Bristol Urban Area, which seems to make much more sense, and includes Almondsbury.

Whilst I agree with you, you can't really argue against the city and county boundaries being the official limits of Bristol.

He's defined the Bristol Urban Area as being bigger than Bristol. Which is obvious. But unless and until the boundaries move, Bristol stops at Filton and Kingswood.

But unless and until the boundaries move, Bristol stops at Filton and Kingswood. Well I was born in Filton which at the time was in the borough of Chipping Sodbury within the county of Gloucestershire so it would be wrong to call myself Bristolian. Thats like saying somebody from Brentford was a Cockney.

The boudaries of the City and County of Bristol are there for administrative purposes. They are the boudaries of the City and County of Bristol, but the are not the boundaries of Bristol as a contiguous urban conurbation, as defined and regularly reviewed by the ONS.
When there was no City and County of Bristol authority - during the Avon era, and before the first City Charter - was there no Bristol? Government dictat does not override physical reality, this is not Airstrip One.

Just sign at the bottom Nick, those nice chaps at Sainsbury's say they'll add the details of the contract later.

We got permission to develop the Mem, twice. Almondsbury will happen, and you'll see a new approach, one where local people are not only spoken to but also listened to.

Great answer. I don't entirely agree, but fair play, you can argue it! If I wasn't en route to Sheffield, I'd try to answer your points. Perhaps later.
