What is going on at the club with regard to the stadium? I have lost touch with the latest? I'm not even aware of a plan for a plan? On the topic of no change, my daughter wanted to buy a new training top for my birthday on Jul 28th, there are still none in stock available to order!
6 months and a whole raft of new hires should have made plans for the stadium accelerate, and add professionalism off the pitch. Still the new speakers sound better so shouldn't whinge.

for me the new owner has come in,paid off the silly loan, backed the manager in keeping all our players and the best ones must have cost, brought in 5 new players, gave the manager a decent new deal, hired staff and brought new board members in and seems to talk lots of sense and dosnt want to change our name to bristol roving rovers for better commercial effect. i for one am just going to trust him to keep his word about slowly developing a football club we all desire

The last thing that I heard the Chairman say on the subject was when there is anything to say then the club will make an announcement.
That's fine by me, and there is still a fantastic team working on it as well. The deal must be right for the club.

People are impatient because of the exploits of the hapless NH. If you were to draw a line under the previous shenanigans and start again from the new owner then it's early days.

I have heard that the contract that was drawn up between BRFC and UWE whilst Nick Higgs was chairman, was weighted in the university's favour. If that were the case then a new group that has taken over the reins, would not necessarily be as desperate as the former chairman to strike a deal as NH's was. With the team that is currently in place on behalf of the club I would have thought that they would have been a great deal more thorough and professional when trawling through the fine detail of the contract. As I recall it was reported under the previous regime that it was only a matter of agreeing who paid for a car park. If that was the case then UWE must be regretting the recent change of owners. Reading between the lines I believe that if the owners don't get the deal that they find acceptable then they will walk away and search for another suitable piece of land, and so start again from scratch. I know that Wael comes across as a good sort of chap and so he may well be, but the owner is a businessman who is looking for the best deal for his company, and as the club have a home venue already he can take his time. I don't believe that he will be as impatient as some fans are, after all didn't BRFC have the short end of the stick for years in their tenancy when we were at Eastville? By the way Igitur, I love the expression ''the hapless NH.''

But having waited for 30 years or more for this promised land (literally!) doesn't make it any less frustrating. How many years would that take? Planning etc..... So many false dawns it's difficult not to just give up all hope. I have grown old waiting....and waiting.....etc

I had read - no more than speculation, it seemed - that the thoughts were to use the UWE land as an Academy / Training ground, and look elsewhere to site a new stadium.
That seemed like a good idea for all parties: - Rovers could look for a bigger site for the ground, with more space for parking and room to expand if necessary. - UWE could have a stadium with a proper running track round it, and smaller stands, meaning more room and more training facilities - maybe a swimming pool, which is surely more suited to a university, and the students, as is the case over at Bath University, and perhaps even room for a velodrome.
Having said that, even if the UWE site was used as a training ground, with just the addition of a running track and smaller stands, I'm not sure it would be a big enough area as you'd need at least 2 or 3 pitches and I don't think the space is there.

But I would still encourage the owners to continue to get the best deal that they can for the club, because if we are to build anything that is worthwhile for the following generation then it may be necessary for a few of us to miss out.

Do u have a view on what the issue is with Mildy padstow - he always seems competent to me, but DC seems to have a clear view of 'the sort of keeper' he is looking for?

Uwe is like a ghost town at the moment, everyone is on holiday so not a lot will happen until term time starts again.
