I've just come across this British Pathé video on Youtube. It's an excellent opportunity to see some of the great Rovers names from the past in action, and some fine shots of Eastville as it was too, but sadly no flower beds though. Plus a view of what may well have been the original Rovers Pirate mascot . . .

My late Dad was there,this and the Man Utd game he must have told me about so much as I grew up. He also told me that the game at Newcastle,when our fans arrived at the station, there were Newcastle fans waiting and offering to take people to their homes for food as it was such a long way

My late father told me 80,000 queued for tickets for this game! Interesting for me to see what Eastville looked like before the North stand was built, it looks to me like that side of the ground was quite like the popular side at Twerton. Anyone who remembers the ground then who can confirm this?
