Nice to hear that Messrs Al Qadi and Hamer continued their visit to other stadia (such as MK Dons) with a look around Ashton Gate this week.
It is good to see they are willing to look around at designs and facilities to pick up ideas, see what works, what doesn't, what could be incorporated in our design, and what tweaks or lessons learned they can take back.
I've not been to Ashton Gate for several seasons (might well go to a few Bristol rugby games now though) but I'm hearing it looks good and the bar area has received a big thumbs up.
I'm hoping they really look at the spectator facilities: like sightlines (Dribuild anyone!), concourses, and just the general ambience created. Things like how the bar areas are decorated, pictures of former teams and players around the concourses.
I really like the atmosphere that builds up, pre-match, behind the North Bank at the Mem, and when I mentioned outside facilities and landscaping at the UWE to the previous regime it appeared they were more concerned with getting the maximum car-parking space in before anything like that. Wembley is a case in point with the grass banks outside and children's play area.

Stadium mk really offers a different viewing experience.. Big comfy seats and an open concourse that allows full view of the pitch while queueing for tea, burger (beer if watching rugby!) however, whether it offers a cracking atmosphere is another matter!
it will be interesting to hear the views of hammers fans this season as they swap Upton Park with its reputation for atmosphere and fans close to the pitch etc for the wide (and it is very wide!!) open spaces of the Olympic stadium. I saw a rugby World Cup match there and I reckon it was as far to the near touch line as it was again to the other side of the pitch.

mate of mine is a frequenter at the new sh8te refurb, very impressed with "the fans aspect" of it all, ie: pre - match day facilities.. looks like they have done some homework on it and put it inplace, as in the American idea of making it an all day experience as opposed to a two and half hour thing, which is what most, not all, tend to do
