The competition is poorly supported and have been told for years teams don't really make any money from the early games.
I suspect most of the clubs voted it through because the PL boosted the prize pot and hoped it would generate interest.
Personally either turn out for the regular games or they might as well scrap the whole competition

Double standards? Rovers and Bristol City (neither members of Welsh FA) competed in the Welsh Cup in Season 1933/4 in fact City won it beating that famous Welsh Club Tranmere Rovers in the Final at Chester !

Liverpool are reportedly ready to turn down a place in the revamped EFL Trophy.
The Liverpool Echo claim that ‘the Reds have not yet received reassurances on several questions they had asked of the Football League in relation to the new format’, with one major sticking point thought to be the use of Anfield.

Are Rovers allowed to pull out if we don't like it? Great experience for young players they are saying. But young players of what nationality?

I'm sure by entering the league you have to conform to rules and regulations, a fine at least would be imposed and as it is the new baby of some clown high up in the EFL something even worse. So best to chuck in the U18s if you disagree, but then there may be a rule you have to play your best players. It's best not to annoy such a crappy set up as the EFL.

I will NOT be attending any games other than against 'normal' league sides
The EFL claim that it is a way to improve prospects of the England team - how would prem league academy players improve their game playing against less technically gifted lower league players? I can see this developing into a Premier League cup particularly as the FA Cup has been horribly devalued by the same premier league opting not to play full strength teams
I said at the time of the creation of the Premier League it would be the worst thing to happen to football and lessen the chances of British players

We should treat it with the same contempt as Premier League teams treat the FA Cup 3rd Round when they play their youngsters!!! I will be boycotting all games except Southampton B v's West Brom B in the final in front of 2,500 at Wembley!!! What a farce!!!
The point raised about who this will benefit is excellent - it won't be young English talent!!! The FA and Premier League are about as out of touch as our Government are!!!
