Does anyone know when we are going to sign some quality players that will take us onwards in Div 1 and beyond. Why we are resigning a lot of these very average Div 2 players beats me especially now we have financial clout. DC will have to do better than this i feel. The question is though, do we have financial clout? I thought we did. Also agree that at least a couple of quality players could be signed, with a view to improving the squad as the season progresses.

Well we have a lot more financial clout than we did prior to February 19th. If the Board decide that money is better spent on the Stadium project / Academy / Infrastructure - then that's good enough for me. They have never said they will throw money at players. As AMPG rightly says - that policy didn't work before anyway. In DC and the Board we trust.
Bournemouth have done pretty well doing this, and they are limited to 10-11k attendances as well.
Promotion can be bought, most are these days
As much as I don't like it, this is true. We just didn't have the people with the relevant nous to bring in the right players before

Just because their multimillionaire doesn't make the noise, doesn't mean he hasn't bankrolled it.

Throwing millions at the team without a sound base? Now I'm sure I know a team that are playing by that model and making a hash of it.....ah Bristol Sport!

I like the principle of rewarding the team that achieved promotion. There's a dignity to it and it sure helps a mentality that your boss is looking after you. The players and manager achieved what they did on merit and I'm sure the team can achieve more with another years experience.

A swansea fan i know said the stadium is a massive factor in their success Swansea got to the Prem through a combination of good Management, the impetus of the new Stadium and a decent amount of investment on the field but without throwing cash around. They arrived at a good time with Premiership funding rocketing and have generally worked with the funds they received and by selling a few players like Joe Allen, Wilfred Bony and Ben Davies for extraordinary amounts of money. The Stadium certainly helped big time but it was just part of the story.

Joe Allen being the world's most valuable midfielder currently
