Indeed but we have to thank Nick Higgs, who was Chairman when he originally signed.
Thanks for Mr and Mrs McChrystal senior and the Chinese restaurant (Wong's) in Derry that provided the perfect romantic back-drop and ambience that was instrumental in Mark coming into the world.

Perhaps monosodium glutamate is an aphrodisiac?

Another good bit of news. It is, but I'm not sure what to make of this drip feeding of players signing new contracts. The team requires strengthening but it is almost easy to forget that we haven't actually made any new signings. The board are playing a blinder PR wise but I was hoping to see a real statement of intent from the new owners - perhaps we will - we will have a better idea about 6 weeks.

But I suspect they are negotiating hard in the back ground and are perfectly aware of the people they want. I would imagine there is quite a lot of brinksmanship in this with agents saying their players have other offers, BRFC having had two promotions and well publicised new ownership, agents will smell cash. BRFC wanting the right players, right attitude, right money. I am also assuming they know who was/is peripheral and the contracts they have been offered will hasten their exit. Anyway I have not seen a defender in lower league better than macca at being behind a player and curling is leg right in front of them to win the ball. It is his super power.

I think that's very close to the reality. I imagine players are actually asking their agents about us but it now, at long last, looks like we won't be put over a barrell and pay the silly money for them. I imagine it's not an easy task in keeping to DC's ethos of getting the right player, with the right attitude but I do trust him on this. He has the back up of someone to do the research and stats and I hope we can soon hear about a couple of quality signings. As much as I love the team that got us to this stage, I don't think we could make a top half finish with them. We still need the creative midfield players and more firepower. I do think the defence we had is more than good enough but we will need back up there. I would imagine that we need to get it right from the off as the new loan rules will hit many clubs hard. We shall now see how the new owners operate.

That man can head a goal and how many goals did we score from corners or set pieces with our big defenders powering them home....................err..............zero I believe. Very astute signing I think.
