Werent we working on the deal back in January? So just let me ask if NH had released todays non statement what would your reactions have been? At the moment the only difference I have noticed between the old and new is one is better at pr My reaction would have been: "Here we go again. A load of hot air and nothing concrete. This man has a history of telling half truths (I'm really being generous here) and gross incompetence." However as this statement has come from Steve Hamer my reaction is: "That is a slight disappointment. If I don't see genuine progress with regard to the new Stadium in the next 6 months then questions will be asked and the Board held accountable. I will be as critical of the new Board as the old Board. But as they have only been in place since February 19th and have inherited a shambolic pile of poo of a football Club, I will give them time before airing any criticism. If the only difference you see between the new and old Board is in PR then words utterly fail me.

In my line of work we are very careful about managing customers expectations.
If we say we will do something on a set day, you do it, or just don't give specific deadlines at all.
You would think this is bread and butter to experienced people like Hamer?
Personally I'm a patient guy so it doesn't bother me but when your promises go out to thousands of fans you have to be sure you can keep them. It's basic customer service, and especially poor when they are following in the footsteps of a poor previous regime.

I'm not that clued up on the details but for me, this statement would seem to be just hiding the real issue. Could be financial, could be UWE or BRFC wishing to change the plans and the other party refusing to accept the change. Until there is agreement on both sides and the finance has been agreed, it'll stay in limbo, and the longer that goes on the less likely it is to happen unfortunately (regardless of the fact that both sides are now working together "closer than ever"). They clearly thought they'd have something bigger to announce and had to can it.
Would be interesting to see some stats on other completed stadium developments, post-planning permission, to compare how long they took before the bulldozers moved in

But then again, I believe the only place that carried the story was the Made in Bristol twitter feed? Maybe that tells us something.

There was no signed deal in place before the new owners took over.

A main difference is that the new lot have only been in place since February and they have a lot of credit in the bank. If we are still no further forward 6-12-18 months from now then patience will will inevitably start to wear thin. Todays situation only occurred because of what Hamer said last week, perhaps giving away a bit too much information? Exactly as I see it too PG. Blige, they've only been here a few months and achieved a fair old bit as I see it. The old regime (I do apologize for bring them up once more but it's so relevant) had lost ALL credibility by the time they'd sold the club. Does anybody on here seriously disagree with that? Seriously?? Whereas the new guard have only been here a short while and have brought in professional people with a clear and proven track record confirming their commitment in delivering a new stadium. They have given a clear statement in how they want to build the club and the team and so far have been true to their word on that as I see it. Are we seriously trying to find fault with them so early on after a previous regime whose level of expertise was a second hand microwave oven seller and a builder who failed to build after many years, messed up with the Mem purchase big time dragging BRFC through the courts chasing a pot of gold that was NEVER at the end of the mythical rainbow, borrowed Wonga style money that would have driven us to the brink. Are we comparing Wael & Co and their collective creditability with this??? Really? Give them time to deliver. Their only possible crime so far as I see it is maybe being a bit too open with supporters with communication - The total opposite to what we complained about for years. Like KP, I won't believe any new promised stadium until I'm sat in it at the first match (too many false dawns will never change that no matter who ran the club!) but that said I do firmly believe they will deliver where all others before them have failed. At least give them a chance, hey? Bradshaw was the first person to import microwave ovens apparently and that is why we were sponsored by Toshiba
