Given the new finances we now have, would a reserve team help the fotunes of the first team? Its been mentioned previously that overnight stays and food after training has helped so would regular football for the whole squad help or is the occasional second team friendly good enough?

unlikely to be introduced ....Under 18s have a competitive league once they reach 18 and over they tend to be loaned out Now we are League One maybe loan to League Two or Conference Clubs rather than no disrespect clubs such as Bath City,Man Utd, Weston Super Mare or Truro City etc

The changes to rules regarding emergency loans will have a massive impact. We will have to have a bigger squad built by the close of the window in August and January to get through large chunks of the season not being able to bring anyone in. This will mean that are 1st, 2nd and 3rd year pros won't be able to get nowhere near as much gametime at local clubs, meaning players having to stay in house. The need for a reserve team is greater than ever, and i hope that the new owners will be looking at investing in a decent reserve set up to bridge the gap between youth and senior football, aswell as keeping senior players fit when there not playing. The current development/reserve set up is a shambles, i think last season over the course of a 9 month season we played 8 reserves/development games. That figure would be doubled in a proper league.

I thought that there no longer was a January window. Just pre season. Anyone able to confirm?

Bring back the Football Combination leagues Yes I agree! My first time of watching the Gas was watching the reserves regularly as a youngster in the 50's. Bobby Jones was my favourite then.

Yes, start a reserve team. Arrange a pre-season friendly with Yeovil and send the stiffs, just for a laugh.

When they went into the Championship a few years back they did exactly that to us in a friendly - our first team vs a 'Yeovil XI' .. bet Gary Johnson loved doing that. A low point for me following the Gas
