I like the red card change and the fact that genuinely injured players won't necessarily have to go off, but changing the kick off rule is an outrage. Boo.

The kick off rule has been changed after a 4 year consultation period, 78 meetings, 45 dinners and 12 breakfast meetings at a total cost of 8.4m euro. Show a little respect before you boo flippantly.

'Players will still be sent off for holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball...'
Really?!

'Players will still be sent off for holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball...' Really?! Blimey, we could be playing 5 a side on a full sized pitch if they apply that rule rigorously

'Players will still be sent off for holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball...' Really?! Blimey, we could be playing 5 a side on a full sized pitch if they apply that rule rigorously It was written in the context of denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity. If it was deliberate, you still get a red, but if its an honest attempt to win the ball, you might not.

Read that - what a load of crap Tinkering around the edges of non important stuff without dealing with the most annoying problems in football like: Simplifying offside rule Lack of respect for officials 'professional' fouls Persistent time wasting Nothing to improve / help referees - may be one in each half? Refs having to now judge what is 'accidental' in an acute area of the pitch - cue more drama lessons for players 18 months to compile that absolute joke!

Can't wait to see the first back-heeled kickoff Presumably it'll only take one player to kick off, too?
