This is the proper way round for the quarters if you look at the original shirts from the thirties. The side effect is that the badge stands out against a white background.

Some of our kit designs over the years have looked like they've been hastily sketched out on the back of a fag packet, whereas this away kit actually looks like a fag packet.

Have been using the forums pretty much as long as they've been going - and I reckon this is the most positive reception I've ever seen for a new kit design on a Rovers forum! They must be doing something right.
Never going to be to everyone's taste of course but not a bad effort. Will never understand the designers' aversion to the Black Arab kit though - every year we ask and (almost) every year it gets ignored. Saying that I'll probably get a home shirt as I like the simplistic design and the collar. I would foolishly also like to think that it'll be a piece of history one day as our only ever conference quarters strip but I'm not that optimistic...

Probably coz they think everyone who wants a black arab kit already has one. I wonder whether there is actually evidence for that, though. Istm most people who buy kits are happy to buy them every year, even if they're virtually the same, as long as they like it.

I don't agree - the first ever quarters were white top left, as you look at it. In the 30s the blue top left was only in for 3 years. www.historicalkits.co.uk/Bristol_Rovers/Bristol_Rovers.htmThe 50s were different with most years blue top left. There isn't much in it; however, white top left has been most common over the years. I think your view is formed from early days, and me watching in the 70s and 80s is probably why I prefer white top left. You've got a good point about the badge though.

I bought the first one they made (in recent times - not the 1883 strip!) and although the design was brilliant, the quality was so terrible that I'd gladly buy a new one next year. It was made out of the itchiest, scratchiest material known to man and was ridiculously uncomfortable to wear. Don't mean to sound like a moaner but seriously it was the worst kit I've ever worn comfort-wise. Anyone else remember that? It was like wearing sandpaper!

Very pleased with theses, quite traditional B&WQs at home and an almost Luton Town style shirt from the 80s for away. Quite tempted to get an away shirt - my first for 8 years!
Well done Rovers!

Strange everyone seems to hate last years away kit now? Remember at the time it was released this time last year it was absolutely loved by all and is, I believe, the best selling shirt we have ever had.

I like the look of both shirts, I must admit.
When I first saw them I wasn't sure about the home one but it has grown on me the more I've seen it throughout the day. It certainly looks a lot nicer than anything we've had in the last few years so kudos for that. The away shirt, for the second season in a row, looks very, very smart in my opinion.
I just hope it's not anywhere near as unlucky!

I remember the release of it and it was easily the most talked about shirt I can remember. It seemed as though everyone loved it. I still love it and will still wear it next season.

Haha!Well this is a good question Pete. If I buy one this week (I won't as i'm holiday at Minehead) it would be an L or XL. If all goes to dietary plan and I buy one in say January to March time,i'm hoping a size M might fit all lovely and snug. Butlins? Actually I lost my job in February. Due to financial restrictions I had to give up drinking. And not being at work I got more exercise. I put on an old green and yellow Rovers top and I thought it fitted rather well. There was a pic of me on the beach wearing it on the old forum. Well done on losing the weight! With me Mum in a flat, maybe a mile from Butlins, but from the living room window the Butlins white domes are in view.Just got back from Exmoor.Other stuff.... putting golf,Sunday brass band in the park, which was like going back in time plus God Save the Queen was played at the end and I estimate 140 of the 150 people watching stood up,made a nice change that afternoon. Colonel Bogey ('Hitler,he only had one Wotsit'),By the Rivers of Babylon of Boney M fame,Marching Songs,The Longest Day theme etc.Deck chaired out,ice cream..... "It Ain't Half Hot Mum."
