According to the Bristol Post: www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-Rovers-Darrell-Clarke-puts-youth-second/story-29284324-detail/story.htmlJay Malpas, Ryan Broom, Danny Greenslade, Jamie Lucas and Tyler Lyttle have all been offered new deals; and Dominic Thomas has been offered non-contract terms. I had been worried that when DC offered all the first team squad new contracts there would not be 'room' to keep these second year professionals. With Alfie Kilgour also retained there's a good pool of talent there and if just one of them comes close to making the progress Tom Lockyer has that will be a good return.

Thought it said that on our website Monday or Tuesday and that Broom had already agreed terms??

I have a feeling this could also be about playing more frequent reserve games next season.

I hope they are able to get into the first team one day. What I fear with some of our youth players in the past is they are not tried and tested properly and then they go into non-league obscurity for the rest of their careers.

I haven't seen him mentioned anywhere. Doesn't seem like it as only Kilgour was mentioned (only 1 U18 getting a pro contract). I really liked the look of Sam Blake, right back, in the FA youth cup game v Pompey - but I think he still has 1 more year as a scholar, but not sure.
