Who we let go pre season is the acid test for our new bright future. I think the acid test will be whether we win games or not

I believe he's been on less than an average L2 wage this season. He'll be looking to quadruple it at least if he's any sense. Absolutely. As division top-scorer he's hardly a secret either, even to clubs who've not bothered especially to scout our players' performances. This is the flip-side of previous (necessary) cost cutting. I applauded that BRFC had stopped giving generous lengthy contracts. Short-term low wage signings seemed good value. But I see now that this means our 'stars' can leave for nothing. Was always the risk I suppose.

Can you imagine the reaction from some if he gets a big pay rise and then hits a bit of a barren spell with us in league One? If I was him I'd be off like a shot. DC really does seem to have created a wonderful team spirit, if he does stay with us, sticks with largely the same set of players and get's us anywhere near the top half of the table, I might start believing in miracles.

To paraphrase Fleetwood Mac, don't stop thinking about tomorrow. UTG
