You're means 'you are', so you are accusing gasser of being your mum. Think I am going leave this before it gets too personal I'll have a look back in the new year and see if we are all still so elated Leave it, or leaf it?

Didn't Geoffrey Bubbles put the 2001 relegation down to 'luck and chemistry'? If that's the case then we have a Nobel prize worthy chemist right now. I believe in karma, this is payback for the bad karma from 2000-2006, and again from 2009-2014. As Chewie said, DC isn't lucky, us fans are (finally) the lucky ones. the relegation season was down to "The Law of Averages"
Edit Strung out got there a bit earlier

I make so many errors and also am prone to typos. I would like to see how efficient most are if they are on strong and harsh medication. I have become much less critical myself as I now am literally walking the walk, if you get my drift. One of the reasons I banned myself from gaschat was this sort of thing. It really can put people off of using a forum

I'll stick my neck out here for argument's sake and say he'd probably say he was fortunate that he got away with his last gasp tactics two years in a row. Team spirit and togetherness will kick the fat lady into touch, but no third time lucky next season for me please, my nerves are already shattered. I think that we all need luck and DC is no different. You can plan and get everything in place, that you think is right to do the job but if you don't get the run of the green then it can all go to pot. Paul Daniels said it best when he said luck = years of preparation waiting for an opportunity. It's been one hell of a roller coaster ride and we have hit the lowest of low only to replace that with the euphoric scenes last week. As Greavsie said, it's a funny old game. This is so true

A heated exchange based on use of vocabulary. 'We do like our grammar' sounds good in a Bristolian accent.

To be fair to the OP, Darrell himself will know luck has been involved. He got us into the position where luck could make a significant difference (as someone else said "you make your own luck") whether that is a Wembley penalty shoot out or final game where a winner is needed against a relegated team. How much could he be blamed if one of our players ballooned it last May or if Browner had tripped over his right foot last Sat? It is a human tendency to blame success on skill and failure on bad luck. My sense is DC is confident but self aware and this will play a huge part in any future success.

The "Sunderland Echo" covers Hartlepool, and carried an interview with Billy Paynter, who reckons he'd like to stay with Pools for a few more years. Paynter hopes Pools can follow in the footsteps of Bristol Rovers next season after rating them as the best team he’s seen in the division.
The Gas, managed by double Pools promotion winner Darrell Clarke, clinched the final automatic place in the dying seconds of the season.
Pools gave tough games to the other two clubs to go up, Northampton and Oxford, but could get no-where near Rovers, who beat them 3-0 at Victoria Park and 4-1 at the Memorial Stadium.
Paynter says the way their advanced players could inter-change and attack at will made them a very dangerous side.
“Bristol Rovers were probably the best team we’ve played, home and away,” he said.
“Their front players were something else, we were like ‘what is going on here?’ when we played them.
“Darrell Clarke brought them through the Conference and straight up, they have been phenomenal.
“Their chairman must be over the moon with him.”Read more: www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/hartlepool-united/paynter-hints-at-long-term-hartlepool-united-future-and-aims-to-follow-the-bristol-rovers-blueprint-1-7911387#ixzz48dKbxzgG

I like the sound of that. We have others taking on our shirt sponsorship idea and beam back too. Are we now becoming trendsetters ? Lol

The next logical step of course is to win a league outright like Northampton did. Steady and consistent from the off. He's a young manager still on a learning curve and he has a pretty much settled team with plenty of confidence following two promotions. It'll need a couple of additions to keep the momentum going. Close season could be the most interesting for years.
