You usually sing when you're winning, Kaiser, but this time you've sung when we've won! I'll accept the compliment in the faith it's given and say thankyou. Enjoy your summer - as we will - and hope we can join you soon in Division 2. That's where we both belong. Most of us feel we have our Rovers back (or are well on the way)....it's a feeling of connection and belonging....i wonder if most of you could honestly say the same? UptheGas ? Indeed. We are back in an "as you were" 5 years ago. Will be an interesting summer. We missed out on an opportunity last summer and paid the price this season. 1. We have the chance now to get some players in hopefully starting with Tomlin and showing players we aren't a flash in the pan as we've stayed up. We failed to attract last summer. Whether it was Cotterill or whether it was newly promoted unknowns who knows? 2. You are now in a division far far harder to get out of than your last two. It's now the likes of Coventry, Sheff Utd, MK Dons, Charlton, Bolton etc. All of them vying to get back up. You need a good summer to be ready. Both of us have some work to do. It's going to very interesting for your investment next season. If Bristol Rugby get back into the Rugby Premiership (which looks likely) they are going to require some big investment to keep themselves there. However rich your owner might be there has to be a financial limit to what he has available to him particularly with the Chancellor of the Exchequer about to enforce harsher tax regulations on British exiles in the Channel Islands and further abroad so he may not have the 'cash' available to support both teams at the level he once did. He has been a long time supporter of the Bristol rugby team even when he supported the Rovers until he changed allegiance when the Gas moved to Twerton so potentially you aren't going to see the investment you need to improve your team in your present league that you of course would like. We'll be happy to sustain year on year improvement but Burton have just secured successive promotions without huge investment so with our new owners only having to financially support one professional team who knows what could be achieved. We have no doubt League 1 will be harder but not as hard as when we were last there with the likes of Manchester City, Leeds, Norwich, Southampton, Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday etc and it was no surprise we came a cropper as we just didn't have owners with enough money to match the financial clout of those teams. We're hoping it might be a bit different this time around, who knows, footballs a funny old game.

UptheGas ? I feel the sense of connection no question. . Maybe you do feel that sense of connection. I do know there is an ever growing minority with a sense of frustration, that the same funds aren't being invested in bc*c82 as other projects like rugby plc and ti ttyball etc.. I guess the sense of connection is relative..

The Playoffs aren't a lottery, I'm pretty sure every playoff has seen the team that has won the most games in the playoffs promoted.

I actually think the Conference is the hardest of the three to get out of, possibly then Div 1. The fact the Conference is a graveyard for so many ex-League clubs is a test amount to that. Clubs that do obtain promotion into the fourth division can hope to continue promotion from the fouth division in a single season. Clubs that get relegated from division four then don't bounce back can languish, recede, and die, sadly. However important and truly joyous this weekend clearly is, it was last season's bounce back that saved Bristol Rovers (1883).

It's good for Bristol. It's good for us. Red trousers are out! The most pleasing aspect of this whole week for me has been the exit of that utter cockhead from office.

The wage cap in Rugby Premiership is lower than the alleged fine Bournemouth have just had for breaking FFP in the Championship. As for SL having some longheld love for Bristol rugby he refused to help them when they wanted to play at AG when we were planning to redevelop the Mem. Small change for SL to establish Bristol at next level if they don't choke again and even they should romp through this play off.
