Bristol Rovers have been reminded by the FA of the potential for mass pitch incursions by supporters at this time of the season as these pose a threat to the safety of players, officials and spectators. Supporters are required to remain in the stands and should be reminded of such prior to any potential 'lap of honour' to be made by the team. Announcements will be made of the PA system before the final whistle to alert the fans that players will only come out if the pitch remains clear. The FA has viewed with concern a number of incidents at this stage last season involving pitch incursions by spectators. Such incidents have resulted in clubs being charged and subsequently fined up to £200,000 by Regulatory Commissions. Bristol Rovers have been asked to review our procedures for dealing with mass incursions to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to deal with such incidents. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action being taken against the club in even of an incursion. Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to ask supporters to remain off the pitch whatever the outcome on Saturday. The club are passing on the information they are expected to by the FA.
I won’t be running on the pitch because 1) I can’t be bothered and 2) what am I supposed to do when I am on it ?

They should send a message to Vincent Kompany reminding him to try to stay on the pitch.

I won’t be running on the pitch because 1) I can’t be bothered and 2) what am I supposed to do when I am on it ? 1) see 2 2) go mental*, run around like a looney*, cut out a square of turf as a momento for your mantle piece*, steal a goalpost*, carry Matty T on your shoulders*, moon to the BT Sport cameras*, kiss a police horse*, the list is endless but if you cant be bothered why ask? *Blue Mist does not condone any of these behaviours
Personally I'm not a running on the pitch person but if we get promoted who knows.

I also do not see the point in going on the pitch...
I can't see Northampton being punished, so why would we?

Also on Oxford fans forum about a week ago. Much the same reaction as here. I will be at Mem on Saturday for D/R but usually at B'mouth for last game and they always invade pitch. Don't most teams at end of season? Still it gives authorities something to moan at. When it starts to get nasty then I can understand but tbh all teams do it and it has become almost a tradition.

It's a no-brainer.
Why risk an expensive fine for the club?
Be a supporter - not a selfish show-off.

Should really just stay at home and listen to it on the radio. Dont want to get excited or carried away at a football match - wed be in danger of creating an atmosphere! Terrible, if anyone knocks my prawn sarnie out of my hand in the Blackthorn on saturday i shall be very upset, and probably repress some anger at someone.
Modern football isnt something i really dont want to be part of - if we ended up like arsenal; new (library) stadium, no atmosphere, and constant moaning, i think ill have lost the Rovers i love.
There will definitely be people on the pitch if we get automatic, and i wont blame anyone who does! Show your passion!

I can celebrate perfectly fine on the terrace. Think I have gone past wanting to run on a pitch and hug a sweaty footballer

I was on the pitch after we beat city in 1990 and at Blackpool when we were champions and if we, against the odds, get promoted on Saturday I'll be on it then too.
Didn't see the point for the Mansfield game. There is a difference between angry pitch invasions and ones of sheer joy. We see it every year at loads of grounds its hardly a safety risk
