If your looking for omens for Saturday....... The last time Rovers won automatic promotion was the 1989/90 season in which...........
1) The F.A.Cup Final was Manchester United v Crystal Palace. 2) Blackpool were relegated from the 3rd Division with 46pts (they currently have 46pts with 1 game to go and occupy the last relegation spot) 3) Charlton suffered relegation 4) Colchester suffered relegation 5) Bristol Rovers won 11 matches away and if they win their final home game will match the 15 they won in 1989/90, Also, if they win by 6 goals they will also match their goal difference of +36 from 1989/90!!
Interestingly, Portsmouth, Plymouth and Oxford were all in Division 2 and current non league teams, Tranmere Rovers, Chester City were in Division 3 and Grimsby Town, Stockport County, Maidstone Utd, Lincoln City, Torquay Utd, Hereford Utd, Scarborough, Wrexham, Aldershot Town and Halifax Town were in Division 4 (Though some of them are sadly no longer with us!)
So we are going up after all ...we dont need play offs

I'm not superstitious but that is all too much of a coincidence...! Ha, for the first time I am going to be happy regardless, I am determined this year is a bonus year and should anything happen and we don't go up, via playoffs or otherwise, I will not drink gallons of cider and mope our unlucky club, I will drink gallons of cider and be happy, waiting for the 100 points next season. ST purchased.

Just a re-cap since February 19th - the day it all changed forever. Home form: Played 8 Won 8 Drawn 0 Lost 0 Goals For 21 Against 5 GD +16. Average attendance: 8,586. We are now owned by an articulate, intelligent, well educated, wealthy football fan who has embraced Bristol Rovers FC and understands the Club and it's tradition. He is polished in front of the media. He has put together a professional team around him who WILL deliver a new stadium. Whether it's next year, the year after, or 5 years time - I don't care. He has a long term sensible, sustainable strategy. Fans turn up at the Mem and are actually smiling. We drink Thatchers Dry in celebratory mood, not to drown are sorrows. It's the best time to be a Gashead ever. We might not get automatic promotion. Don't care. We might not go up in the play-offs. Disappointed, but not down. Next season - whatever Division we are playing in, it will be brilliant. Because it's brilliant being a Gashead right now.

On the Accy forum someone says Bet365 are streaming their game vs Stevenage. Not sure how true this is but if so at least there wont be any false reports coming through!!

It was the most incredible week of my life. So we haven't lost at home since he was born, I like that a lot.

Very unlikely, I used to have a Bet365 account and they never showed L2 games. Some guy on the Accy forum from New Zealand mentioned it.
Seems like there is a bit of mutual dislike between Accy and Stevenage (maybe from conference days?) and also Accy changing the game to all-ticket at the last minute!!

My preference would be to go up with accy i think. They have done amazingly well this season and deserve a lot of credit - obviously hope they fail to win, but would much rather oxford mess up! Dont like them at all!

Dont like them at all! I agree but I do kind of feel a bit sorry for the Oxford chairman, Darryl Eaves, ( some media say Eales). He wanted to invest in our club but GD blocked it as I understand it. I was informed that NH tried to go back to him once GD had gone but that could all be wrong as we now know of the disinformation that used to get put about. It does seem that Eales was pretty keen to be involved. Regardless of the deal, it's great to see a chairman who stands with his own clubs fans when they play. I think Accrington have done so well and they deserve their position but I just cannot see them maintaining a L1 spot. Unless they get a sugar daddy investor then they just cannot compete on the crowds they get. As much as I love an underdog story, I feel it would not be good for them in the long term. Still, I doff my proverbial cap. Loans or not, they have consistently proved they are in the top spots on merit
