We have had 10K at home against Plymouth, Cambridge, Yeovil & will have 10K against Exeter & Dagenham. We also had over 9K twice this season.
When was the last time we had five league attendences in a season over 10K?
It must be pre 1986 (pre Twerton where the capacity was 8.5K?) In 1996 when moved to the Mem the capacity was only 7.5K (West stand a shell, No South Stand, No Guiness Tent etc). Even during the Holloway Managerial seasons I don't think we had the Capacity (9K rings a bell for that time?)?
Irrespective of the Timeline for the UWE or the division we are in next year there must be some merit in doing some nominial work to get the capacity up too around the 12K figure again over the summer?

Can remember being in Eastville with over 30,000 for Stoke and others in League Cup but TBH even in last few years at Eastville I don't think capacity was very high at all. H&S cut it a lot in last years but can't remember exactly what it was. So you might be going back many years.

You have to go back to 1977-78 to find five or more home attendances over 10,000. But two of those were in the FA Cup. League Div 2 | Southampton | Drew | 0-0 | 12,031 | League Div 2 | Crystal Palace | Won | 3-0 | 11,688 | League Div 2 | Cardiff | Won | 3-2 | 11,945 | League Div 2 | Tottenham | Lost | 2-3 | 17,708 | FA Cup Rd 4 | Southampton | Won | 2-0 | 26,525 | FA Cup Rd 5 | Ipswich | Drew | 2-2 | 23,456 |
If you mean League games, then it was the previous season (1976-77). Chelsea | Won | 2-1 | 13,199 | Plymouth | Drew | 1-1 | 10,258 | Wolves | Lost | 1-5 | 20,660 | Fulham | Won | 2-1 | 11,140 | Southampton | Lost | 2-3 | 11,479 |
The FA Cup replay at home to Forest (1-1) and the Gloucester Cup defeat against the pre-1982 C*&y (0-1) also pulled in five-figure gates. Stats: "Bristol Rovers FC - A Complete Record 1883-1987" (Mike Jay)

When you see that 1976-77 was the last time we achieved this you really realise that we are on the crest of the wave. The new ownership must be really pinching themselves on what they have purchased. The future looks so, so good both on and off the pitch.

The Wolves match was my second ever Rovers match. 27th December 1976 and we were ripped to shreds by Wolves. The attendance was the last time we had a home league attendance over 20,000.

I was at 3 of those matches in 1976-77. Chelsea one was a cracker, Plymouth was OK but the Wolves one was the only time I nearly didn't stay till the end! My Dad was in a foul mood after we went 5-0 down and wanted to get home for his tea - but I persuaded him to stay to see our consolation goal! Never left a match before the end in my life. Didn't realize that was the last time I would see a Rovers home league match with over 20000 in the crowd.

by my rough calculations, we should be on for a final average attendance (home league) of around 8,100. The best since 2000 (when it was 8,400) and prior to that 1977 (8,400) and '76 (10,000)

Slow start to the season I suppose?

Slow start to the season I suppose? 2000 was in league one and would have included bigger away attendances that would have made up the difference, home attendance probably almost the same. We have had some shocking away followings at the mem this season with only plymouth and pompey selling out.

We had a poor start to the season at home if I remember, it's just as well we had phenomenal away form to compensate to keep us in touch with the top half of the league.

Although I was an ever present at Eastville then, I remember the following season more, who could forget the two cup games and the other one that sticks in my mind is Cardiff, I seem to remember them going 1-0 up and us battering them nearly all the rest of the match but we didn`t equalise until later in the second half. The Tote went mental, then we scored again to make it 2-1 and the place erupted. Think it then went 3-1 and they got a late consolation. They were the days etc.
