I think Hartlepool could be a major factor as to who goes up automatically this year . They are 5th in the form table and have to play Accrington /Plymouth /Portsmouth

Good job we played them when they were so poor.

Wycombe are a big factor too. They have to play Portsmouth, Accrington and Oxford. Would be nice if our friends from Buckinghamshire could do us a favour... and then balls up the play offs again

Not forgetting we have two West Country derbys of our own to contend with.

Don't count on Wycombe taking points off of our rivals, I have someone at work who is a ST holder there and says they have done downhill, don't score goals and their usually decent defence has starting to spring leaks lately.

I never use the word 'luck' but this time of season is a bit of a lottery. so many games can go so many ways. You might even play the same team as your rival, back to back, and one of you plays a motivated first XI scrapping against relegation and next game the other could be playing the kids in their flipflops.
and it's not just as simple as 'changes weaken a team' as sometimes the ones coming in are trying to take their last chance at getting a new contract / spotted by a scout.
a funny old time of the season.
it is interesting though that Pools have their last 4 games against promo chasing teams.
BTW - Pompey vs Cobblers on last day (already sold out) could well be interesting! Can you imagine if we (or any other team) needed Cobblers to do a job and they just didn't? wow, that could last longer than the wycombe lightning.

Having said that that Wilder guy strikes me as a very determined, professional manager. Maybe they might need a point or three to break some club record ?? Let's hope so. I actually don't agree about the lottery thing - teams who need points often get them at this time of the season - and if they don't then they are called Bristol Rovers 2013/14

I'm sure there's a correlation between Hartlepool's current run of form and the fact they've not played a good team for weeks.

Or more likely when they signed Nathan Thomas, who would walk into our first 11, only 21 as well.

Well they lost 1-0 tonight Nathan Thomas didn't play so the defeat was 100% inevitable.
