I've never understood those who go on a wonderful break but who will spend it by not going outside of their hotel and pool. I knkw each to their own and all but I lobe getting into the cultures and foods etc of the places I go and I only take a cell phone for emergencies. I see so many who it seems are more intent to post photos that to just really get into the holiday. Having said that, I've not been away, for more than 4 days, in 10 years now and it really is about time I did. Anyone know of anyone who does travel insurance that is not more expensive than the holiday ? I get quotes of over £500 for a fortnight and when the holiday actually costs less. I am tempted to just go and not bother with the insurance. It really is silly. Anyway, I hope you do enjoy your break.

I suspect you're not being serious, but never ever go abroad without taking out travel insurance. G20man used to have a travel agent in to talk about various topics and iirc something as simple as a broken leg can end up costing in the region of £20,000. Anything more serious could break the bank.

Both my daughters and myself have a chromosome disorder. To explain how bad mine is, I served 22 years in the Armed Forces! my insurance for the two weeks £60, the girls insurance for the same period £210 each! Jools I am waiting for confirmation from a new company takes about 45 mins per application but it is a rolling deal, you have to agree to take three years worth at time of booking but first quote for world travel is £74 per year for the girls. Certain countries are not included.

Middle of the night in a hotel room overlooking Brisbane Bridge romantically clad, as it was, in blue lights.
