Does Paul have a page where we can donate to his bike ride?

Paul was a good friend, and I still can't quite believe I won't see him again , either at Rovers or AEK Boco.
He really was the most upbeat, positive type of bloke and it was a pleasure to talk to him over the years when all around were moaning, he could always keep a sense of proportion. He was a decent player himself and passed on his knowledge to the youth side he managed at Boco, who were incredibly successful. We all met for a drink in his memory over at the Boco clubhouse on Sunday, and I have never seen so many grown men in tears, it really is absolutely heart breaking. A match is being planned in his memory, which will be between the current AEK Boco first team and the youth side he managed ( several of whom are first teamers at Boco who are currently running away with the Glos County League)I will post the details of it on here when I know.

Terribly sad news. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Found out on Saturday after the match and everyone in the Civil service club that knew him was in shock. RIP Paul.
He was very close to his father, brother and worshiped his kids. I just can't imagine what they must be going through.
Think it would be a fitting tribute if the fans could do what has been done at other clubs, like a minutes applause at a certain time such as in the 42nd minute (his age) at the next home game.

WHEN SOMEONES TIME HAS COME TO PASS,
A GASHEAD TO THE END.
UNITED WE STAND, GLASS IN HAND,
TO TOAST OUR ABSENT FRIEND.
RIP and Goodnight Irene Paul Withey

Truly tragic and my thoughts are with Paul's family. Now this is just an idea and I do not know anybody with any clout BRFC in order to organise this but perhaps the club could invite a team from St Peters to the next home game in order to do a bucket collection in his memory. Walk around the pitch at half time, bar areas, terracing etc
It appears that Paul was a supporter of charity and even though not many of us knew him he was a member of the Rovers Family and we should be able to honour his memory if we can. If anyone knows BSS perhaps they can ask him to approach the board and ask if this is possible.

That is a great idea and having been the one who was responsible for 4 funerals, I can say that it's the unkindest of things that people have to face financial difficulty when already in a grief state. I think it's a superb idea and one I support wholeheartedly

Very sad. Boco ladies are playing in the Gordon Perrett Memorial Cup final on Sunday, at the Gfa in Almondsbury. There will be a minutes silence before the game, and a tribute to Paul from Boco in the programme. One of many I'm sure.

Heard yesterday at 42mins we spontaneously applauded in away end?
Is this true?
I was in beam back and honestly never noticed, no disrespect intended.
Maybe we can give a fitting tribute v Yeovile this Saturday to show support for family and respect for his life on 42mins?
I would hope the club could acknowledge something officially, too..

Hi all, I've spoken to Rex over on OTIB - Paul was a really good mate of mine and also a work colleague. His loss is just immense because he was one in a million, a more caring, kinder, positive, energetic and downright decent human being would be impossible to find. Paul had been involved in a number of charity activities with a few of us through work (including a 50 mile Trek over the Pennines and cycling from Bristol to Amsterdam last summer) and this was done in aid of the Children's Hospice South West (CHSW). We were planning further events this summer and Paul was taking part in the charity ride on the 2nd as training for that. Having spoken to the family (again, a truly marvellous collection of people) we have set up the following Just Giving page in Paul's memory in order to both remember him and raise as much as we can over the coming months for CHSW (hopefully this links works!); www.justgiving.com/Paul-Withey-CHSWPaul was Rovers through and through, outside of his family and friends they were his life (along with AEK Boco). I am going to miss our friendly banter more than words can say and I very genuinely wish you all the very best for the rest of the season because a Gas promotion would bring a huge smile to the face of this 40 year plus Red as a fitting tribute to a really, really top bloke.
