Salisbury City: Football Conference expel struggling club Salisbury City have been expelled from the Football Conference after failing to pay outstanding debts.
The Whites had already been demoted one division to Conference South after failing to meet a payment deadline.
The club were then given until Friday to repay all football creditors and a £50,000 bond but failed to do so.
It is the second time they have been relegated for financial reasons and are the second club to drop out the league this summer, following Hereford.
Wish the football league acted so strongly against cheats !!!!!!!

Been a basket case of a club off the pitch for as long as I care to remember. I wish them well though with this Moroccan tosser conman who looks serious trouble.
Probably best to start a new club and start again in the Wessex League now.

Feel very sorry for their fans.
I was hoping for the best when they appeared in the fixtures listed earlier today.

It is all Darrell Clarke's fault.

I can't understand how the Conference works as surely if a team went bust now they wouldn't be expelled, at worse they'd have 10 pts deducted and then have nearly 12 months to sort out their finances and pay off creditors, but go bust next May/June and they'd find themselves in the Southern Premier, whilst a team going bust in Div 2 would still be allowed to play Div 2 football.

Lowestoft Town (based in Suffolk) must be gutted. Conference South running with one less team and yet they're left in Conference North!
