Does anybody think he will play at all before the season finishes? I can't see it happening myself and I expect he will be released in the summer.

I'd rather see him in the box for last minute corners than Mildenhall, although obviously we'd already made all our subs on Monday.

He has played a few times, in all honesty, cant see him getting much game time now, especially if McBurnie and Ellis come back and manage to find some form - might not even find himself in the match day squad. KB mentioned in commentary he was bought in as cover for Gaffney, and in that period he didnt play that often, so i guess his days are numbered. However, imagine the scene - we need to beat accy/plymouths/oxford goal difference on the last day aginst Daggers - he comes on to score a last minute towering header at the far post in front of the blackthorn! ahh i can dream!
NB Please note my endless optimism that we would only need to beat goal difference, im imagining being 3-0 up but needing a fourth maybe haha

I doubt he will be here next year. He came here to train and get fit and potentially get an opportunity.
It's certainly worth having him around and come the summer hopefully for him he will be fitter and have a decent chance of finding himself a club

He is 34 and I take it is on a low wage, if nobody came in for him I would keep him for another year, as he has the experience of higher level football. Explain to him from the start he is a squad member and this is the only offer. If we keep the nucleus of our squad he is useful when we have international call ups / bans.

I would rather we handed our youth an opportunity in the likes of Lucas, and cut Fallon out as I see him akin to dead wood. Also, I'm not sure what would it do to his morale to keep him just for a few weekends in the season, when if he stays with us to get fit, may be offered a full time deal with a lesser club?

Good points, I suppose it comes down to the player budget. Don't get me wrong I think it is fantastic that we are now looking even more to bring on our own players but sometimes a mix with experience is also good. Contracts are a funny thing maybe a squad player with responsibilities within the youth set up? At the end of the day he was an international player. OK got to hold my hands up as well, the Wife is on cloud 9 tonight and she did not get to go to Wembley today as the holiday we are on was booked months a go. When I saw Rory play for the Tykes (on quite a few occasions) I thought he was going to be class, injuries did not help so maybe just a bit of nostalgia is getting in the way.

[b Lucas is getting game time at Boram though. No harm in having him here until the end of the season, you never know what is going to happen. Can't see him playing though, unless we get injuries.

I honestly thought we would see more of him this season. I saw him play a few preseason friendlies and although they were 'friendlies' I thought his ability to control the ball, hold the ball up. play the ball off, his quickness of pace and his finishing were exemplary. Hopefully his opportunity will come next season......
