This morning I decided to sit down and write a letter to our new owner. I did this for two reasons:
1. I wanted to thank him and his family from the bottom of my heart for choosing Rovers as their club and for giving us the chance to fulfil the potential we all know Rovers have.
2. To inform him of the history of the Dutch Gas connection and the visit of a new group of Dutch football supporters who will be visiting the Mem for the first time on April 23rd.
Should I send a letter of should I try an e-mail? Considering previous negative experiences with the club I thought I'd try both, starting with an e-mail to the club secretary Dave Sams. With it being Easter Saturday morning if I'm lucky I'll receive a reply some time next week.
Within an hour I received a very pleasant reply from Dave in which he stated that he was fascinated by the Dutch Gas story, that he'd pass it on to Wael and that he'd arrange a Mem tour for the new group of Dutchmen.
Things have changed very quickly at the Rovers. Well done Dave and Bristol Rovers! UTG

UTG Well done my friend, I have also had a very positive response by the club and it's such a difference to the indifferent approach of the previous board. As the president and chairman say, long may it continue

Great to read this, very proud to be a gashead now, after finding it at times quite hard to be positive about the club and where it was going. Good to see so many yesterday wear the colours at the game.

UTG Alright Jon hope your keeping well who would thought all those years ago when we were at school and stood on the north enclosure that we would ever be in this position looks like we are gaining quite a following over there I've even got family in Ireland asking about us and if any tickets about the way things are going there will be no bristolians able to get in UTG

I'm being overwhelmed with all the positivity! It's very hard to get used to. There is a tiny bit of my brain that thinks that this is the most elaborate wind-up in history and that Wael Al-Qadi will be unveiled as Ant (or Dec) in the near future. In the meantime - I am just loving everything I hear about the Club and everyone associated with it. UP THE GAS.

Respect to Dave Sams for this one. I could get used to this - actually liking the owners and employees of BRFC. What EVER will we moan about?
All this positivity is also rather self-affirming. Humility requires a person to question whether one is right and whether the objects of one's anger are actually wrong. This has caused me to wonder in the past whether I was ignorant. Maybe Higgs et al weren't all bad.
But having seen recently how differently the new regime's approach can be, I know.
We were all right. Higgs et al were truly awful.
I think we should be grateful we were chosen by the Al Quadis, and proud of the reasons why, because you are all a part of those reasons, gasheads, and for that, I salute you.
