I see the Anti Nick brigade are out in force today Given your obvious love for him, were you surprised not a single Rovers supporter was disappointed to see the back of him?

Poor old Nicky Higgs, nice bloke, just a **** tenure of our beloved club, meant well, but just marginally out of his depth; personally, one way or the other I will be just glad to she the back of Shamesburys and the saga of a court case. The king is dead, long live the king, boom boom boom wael wael. No pity from me. Had he been able to delegate and accept responsibility, be honest, open up a bit then I would think differently but he was bullish, aloof and pernickety. He alienated people, disengaged from fans and would blame anyone other than himself. This can't even be blamed on Sainsburys as we changed the terms of the contract ourselves but cry foul when they point this out. I will be very glad to see the back of this and the old guard. Once this is over we can truly move on and I will be mightily relieved to do so

I see the Anti Nick brigade are out in force today Well I was never in the anti Nick/Board brigade but I was very firmly in the anti mismanagement brigade, it was unfortunate that he was Chairman of all that mismanagement and the Board

I'm not a great lover of the man, but he put HIS money into the club and for that he deserves some respect

I'd question it. This is the apologists mantra "without his money you would not have had a team to waste your money on". His loans definitely helped. He worked hard and I honestly think he did 'his best'. It just wasn't good enough. BRFC could not enter Administration as the net value (ie the Mem) was always greater than the debt. So thanks for loaning the Club money Mr Higgs - we all appreciate that. Should Debt ever > the Mem fire sale value - the Club would have imploded. And Mr Higgs would still have got (most) his money back. Thankfully it never got that far. Mr Higgs found the golden Al-Qadi ticket and everyone is happy now. Good bye Mr Higgs and good luck (I do actually mean it).

I'll question it as a valid reason to support him or his record. I thought he bought shares, sounds as if Henbury knows different and what actually happened was that Higgs just rocked up into the car park and handed over millions as an act of altruism. We were doing very nicely when he joined the BoD, that was without his money, it was only after he got involved that our fortunes nose-dived, and we're supposed to be grateful for that?

That may be so, but it's not the point you raised. You stated that without his money there would have been no team to watch, my opinion is that because of him a huge percentage of the equity in the stadium was squandered whilst taking the team backwards. I agree with Kevin when he says ''Nick Who?'', but that doesn't mean that attempts to rewrite history should go unchallenged.

without his money you would not have had a team to waste your money on without our money he would not have had a team to waste his money on. Indeed so. Should anyone really be happy about all the crocks and duffers we signed in the past all on 3 year contracts at silly money? I have to be grateful for such mismanagement of a 3rd tier football league club that ended up in the 5th tier when we were on the crest of a wave after our wonderful promotion year and Wembley triumph way back then? Remind me, whose watch was this all on? Anyway, as has been said so many times we have a new owner who seems to want to run the club professionally so I want to move on and put all the bad years behind. But gloss over the total mismanagement of the club for years by the previous regime and all the wasted money that near ruined OUR football club? Not a chance!!!

Clearly they are obsessed with us for some strange reason. I can honestly say I have never posted or ever will post on their forum or any article in the Evil Post. Why waste your time doing that? Do we mean more to them than they let on? Bless their grey cell between them. Who has it today I wonder?

I put mine in every other week... doesn't give me the right to take a dump on the pitch. without his money you would not have had a team to waste your money on That is simply not true. We were fed the nasty line of without the board there would be no Bristol Rovers but we would. It may not be the club as it is/was but we would have an FC Rovers of Bristol or the like. It always rankled me that he would use this. The hubris of the man and his megalomania was beyond belief. It's US fans that started the club and will be there long after the various boards are gone. Never forget that Ian. No club can survive without its blood supply and that is the fans that pay to watch and our fans are amongst the best of any.
