Many apologies if I'm being dim/raking over ground that's been covered, but does the court case matter any more?
Surely Higgs and Wael have agreed two separate deals, one if the case succeeds and another if it fails. If we win Wael has to pay more to Higgs, but will get the return from Sainsburys, if we lose then the only loser is Higgs who will get less for his asset.
I fully appreciate the situation is FAR more complex than that, but as a general idea...

Sainsburys still matter to me. Will never set foot in one of their stores again.

There would have only been one deal.
The club wouldn't have been sold if there was a chance of winning the case.

Higgs and the directors making a profit on their investment without the risk of building a stadium or having the general hassle of running a football club they're not espcially popular at? Still seems like a decent deal to me.

There would have only been one deal. The club wouldn't have been sold if there was a chance of winning the case. So what was Higgs motive for pursuing an appeal that, despite all of his ridiculously confident bluster to the contrary, he must have known he had virtually zero chance of winning? Purely with a view to strengthening his negotiating hand when trying to sell the club? Surely our new owners would have been aware that the court case is a lost cause anyway. Seems like he was literally going for broke and got astonishingly lucky.

I for one will wait for the outcome, but at the very least I would hope we get some money. If I was a judge they would have to buy it and pay all of our costs.

It's also my belief that after leaving the court of appeal he knew he had lost and with massive debt repayments and court costs looming he sold the club as quickly as possible. Happy days.

How does this stack up bearing in mind the sale negotiations started last September? It's not like we had the appeal and then NH decided he'd better sell the club fast is it.

Perhaps to give the potential new owners the impression there were still ongoing positive negotiations ?

As a general question it's a reasonable one but if you haven't had the opportunity to listen to any of the interviews held with those who have been given responsibility for delivering the new stadium the answer is a definite no. They have been quite clear in saying that the Sainsbury result will have no bearing on them delivering a new stadium for us, that my Gashead supporter is all that we could ask for.....UTG !
