Thought it would be good idea to start a thread, and continue, of any funny or memorable anecdotes of away venues we are about to visit?
Or even for some of you to admit you're a virgin at this venue?!
First one went ok, lets to see how this goes..
Ok, I've been many times. I understand the angst, but really? ? ?
It's a bit like Barnet situation for me.....trying to generate a false rivalry. In actual fact, my personal experience of Wycombe fans are anything but! I've found them polite, just as passionate as any lower league fan, an have a general non arrogant/aggressive demeanour with empathy. In fact, it's been some of our supporters that have acted inappropriately with no provocation from their support, that I've observed.
So, I am not getting drawn in to any negative stance. I was there at the home relegations; lightning saga; and the one where Rammel booted our keeper in the head!
But.....'that' infamous pub was a genuine first and shock for me, so will cite that as a very happy memory out of many, many others.
And.....it was the first time I was absolutely amazed at the skill of Vitalis Astafjevs one night. I think it was tin pot cup match (?) His passing and vision was sublime, shame the rest of the team couldn't keep up. At one point I was mesmerised by a pass (towards us in away end) with back spin that sat up immaculately for the run that didn't have to break pace for..
Amazing!
Safe journey all Gas, and lets hope for another 3points.. UptheGas!

Was it 13 mins added time at the end of that game? Left the ground happy with no idea that the wheels were about to fall off.

Wycombe away has long been a traditional trip for Pied Horse tours , so I have been here on countless occasions. However, I have few memories other than some raucous sing songs in Marlborough on the way back. In Marlborough we did once bump into that bloke who wanted to take over City with claims of fantastic connections to venture capitalists who then disappeared without trace, and of course I do remember the win that - ahem- saved us from relegation to the conference. I can't make it this Saturday, possibly the first time I have ever mixed this fixture, whatever the result, I'm sure lots of people will have a good day out.

I can remember seeing Ellington and Zamora come on as subs, and thinking that I had glimpsed the future, and it looked good.

I think our sub keeper was someone (like Brian Parkin?)in twilight of his career..

I've only ever been to Adams Park once, and that was to watch Wycombe play a local derby versus Luton Town. It was quite an entertaining game to watch for the non-partisan supporter, but completely ruined by some idiot with a drum who banged it virtually non-stop from the beginning to the end of the game.

I've also been a few times, the first in the 2006/07 promotion season. We'd lost our previous home match to Wrexham (grrr) after losing to Doncaster in the Johnstone's paint trophy final. I think most of us thought our season was over after the loss to Wrexham but for some reason or other I decided to go to Wycombe (I'd never been there before in my life and was pre my sat nav ownership days) but got there ok, saw us win to start off that remarkable run to get into the play off's with seconds to go before the Richard Walker/Sammy Igoe final. The last visit was the relegation season when there was a remarkable pitch invasion after Clarkson scored where I think one fan did a sliding tackle on one of our players, another did a leap frog over another player and yet another just appeared to be wandering around on the pitch spaced out. Anyone on here want to own up to being one of those three fans ? As the saying goes on both occasions.....and the rest is history.....
