I have no idea how the loan system works so....
* When does the loan window open/close? * Will loan players be able to play in a play off final (if we get there)? * Is there a limit on the number of players a team can bring in on loan?
and a more subjective question...
* Assuming reasonable money is available how many players do we need and in what positions?

I'd say that we need a real left wing player, a creative midfielder & I believe we still need a fox in the box striker.
Having said that, I don't think Lee Brown would do well with a dedicated left sided player so that would be difficult. I don't think Lawrence is up to fitness levels and we do need a midfielder with the ability to bring the ball forward as we are often seeing our own midfield being bypassed.
I think DC knows what and who we need but he was constrained by our budget and cutbacks. I do trust him to get the right players but he just hasn't had the backing or money to get them here. It's going to be difficult as we now have a team who really play for the club and shirt & so Imworry that this team spirit could be disrupted when and if we get new guys come in and on higher wages. It was evident that DC was very upset at the way the takeover was done but I hope Wael has had time to really speak with him

I think all loans at this stage are 90 day? Which is why certain players missed out on our play off in 2007 - Jacobson was it?
So i guess we need to take calculated risks with loans: - wait til we are within 90 days of the final? - go for it ASAP and get the points on the board - Potentially look to bring players in now to train and built team dynamic, with loans made official on the 90 day mark.
The last option would seem the most sensible, however if results go against us in that period it would cause unrest.
The biggest problem now is managing the fans expectations; i think many are expecting signings as soon as possible, and will probably start doubting the new ownership if we dont sign at least 1 or 2 straight away. Obviously some will be dissapointed anyway, as im sure some expect Falcao to partner Rickie Lambert!

DC often says it's what goes on the pitch that matters to him. He seems to take umbrage too quickly about certain issues and holds it for too long, such as the coach incident last year and the training ground pictures; they were bad but he did seem to take it too personally. Obviously a takeover is huge, but it was down to NH's usual crap management not the new owners. Hopefully DC will move on and will be able to identify suitable players, I am sure he has some in mind. Lawrence had not gelled yet which must disappoint DC, as it does me. He needs to get players in, certainly a winger and a young hungry forward; any loans now must be up and ready to go.

We wont be getting any new players for a couple of weeks, if even then! We have already been told by our new chairman that Darrell wants to see how the next 3 games go before deciding if he wants new players. So dont expect new players during this period, unless we do so bad in the first two games that Darrell has to react quicker! The owner has also said that the playing side of things are fully Darrell's responsibility and they wont get involved apart from backing Darrell when he wants it. So they wont be bring players in behind Darrell's back. We may get in one or two players in a few weeks time but dont expect big name players. We all know how Darrell works. He will want similar players that he already has who want to be with us to fight for us. I cant see big name player coming down to our level and be motivated to fight for our cause. We need to be realistic here. Lets trust Darrell and our new men in charge. They are here for the longhaul. They are here to match our ambitions. If we are clever about this, we will rise the leagues but may not happen as quick as some will like. Just be patient guys and enjoy the adventure.

DC does seem to be able to hold a grudge but I don't take issue with it as he really is learning on the job. I also feel he can have favourite players & can persist with them maybe a little too long. I think NH really should have had a word with DC but at least we now know that it wasn't just us fans that were kept in the dark. I believe the takeover was a forced issue though and that NH had no other way out. A couple of ITK have near enough confirmed it that NH could not have built the new stadium even with a win at court and that UWE had rethought the deal. Add this up and it looks like the Al Aadi family were supposed to be a partner but then had a rethink and saw that they didn't want to be a part of a partnership and then came in for the kill. I couls we'll be wrong but, when I add together all of the information that I was fed, I strongly feel this was an offer than Nick was unable to turn down. As much as dislike NH and for various reason, I don't think he would not have informed DC if he had the chance. My feeling is this was from left field and was a last minute change. Hey, I guess it is history now but I really hope that DC manages to keep his anger to low and that he now has had an opportunity to talk to Wael and feel confident in what the man and his family want to do.

Some of the stuff, that our lot are putting up on the various social networks, is embarrassing for me. It only seems like a week ago that we suffered from premature celebration about getting the planning permission it seems that many certainly open themselves up to some payback, IF it doesn't workout. I have learned, the hard way and the Rovers way, that it really is best to not go OTT Having said that, I understand that I am a 52 year old and that many years of broken dreams litter my psyche. Right now ? I am just very happy that this will put pay to any talk of admin and that we have the backing of what seems to be a genuine guy but also a family who seem to genuinely have a vested interest in football. We really could be at the start of a golden era, one that many of us never even dreamed would happen

I want to be excited and start planning a big bright future of European trips away watching my beloved team, but like you say; this is Rovers! I think im a cynic in general, would rather have low expectations that are exceeded than dare to dream! Maybe that will change over time in relation to Rovers, but i dont dare to dream yet! My expectations are we will be able to compete for the signings of certain players previously out of reach in recent times, however it was but only 2-3 years ago we were paying high wages to seemingly good players, and look where that got us! i Would allow DC to bring in whoever he wanted now- with no interference, if the new ownership means he has a little more budget all well and good, but i dont want decisions being made above his head.

Europe, how about Jordan in the short term?

the maximum duration of an Emergency Loan is 93 days. The loan period is inclusive of the starting date and the finishing date. Youth Loans may not extend beyond the date of the Player's 21st birthday.
The League shall have discretion to extend the maximum duration of 93 days for an Emergency Loan in extenuating circumstances, such circumstances to be determined in The League's absolute discretion.
30th May is the play off final. So a player can not be signed before Feb 28th.

Next year it is all scrapped anyway. Just 6 month and season loans, only allowed to be made in transfer window. Not fair on smaller teams with small budgets. We will need a bigger squad then, to cover injuries.

We will need a bigger squad then, to cover injuries. I just had a look at last nights games and saw Oxfords squad. They have 28 players who you can say are genuinely viable for the first team. They have 4 spare goalkeepers ! Seeing that made me realise just how great a job DC is doing & has done.
