Yes it was years a go, but I will admit i left early because as well as being in the Army I was working for a taxi firm very close to the memorial, and it was the best paid day I ever had (Taxi wise). Always had a bit of a soft spot for them after that game, the thought of all those travelling fans standing by their club.
Well I am not saying we will ever have that sort of fan base but they stayed faithful, blue and true so maybe it is our time, to be honest using my wife as a comparison (football team she supports) one season in the Premiership would be like heaven!
Championship well that would be heaven on earth. This feels like the real deal.

I felt the experience that the Manchester City fans went through during their journey down and then ultimately up the league ladder prepared them to appreciate the success that then followed.
You can only enjoy the highs when you have experienced the lows.
We have never experienced highs during my lifetime. We are long overdue, and I agree with you Oxon, this does feel like the real deal.
I agree with the sentiment of our new club president, this is a club that has for a very long time not lived up to potential. Bristol has long deserved a top flight club (or at least one challenging for that right) and it has looked recently like Bristol City would walk away with that honour. Now, perhaps, just perhaps, we can join the party.
A Bristol derby in the Premiership or even the Championship would be amazing.
But I also agree that we have to take things one season at a time. Promotion to League One is the priority, as well as coming up with a stadium plan. Both are critical.
There is also an element of relief. Relief that we still have a football club. I don't think March would have been a very good month for us otherwise...

Well if it's the hour for dreaming... who is to say that a second division 'Championship' Rovers can't make a FA or League Cup final?
As long as we're looking at divisions above, not conferences below.

Despite my inbuilt cynicism I can`t help but feel excited about the future.

I remember this match well. Great night and Dickov bought me a drink after in the clubhouse when some of their players came in after the game, they were a top bunch of lads. Seem to recall Goater was good fun too taking a chorus of "Sheeeted" in good heart.
