Just had a notification pop up on my phone from BBC sport to say that the match has been called off today. Don't know any more but thought I'd post to give everyone the heads up!

Not surprised, given the weather forecast yesterday.

We have covers if there is snow forecast. WTF couldn't we use them? Is it really that hard to cover the pitch for heavy rain? That's my trip to Bristol right royally f*cked up. The official site can't even spell "postponed" correctly. FFS.

Sack the board. Yeah! How dare Nick Higgs allow it to rain on the Mem. He couldn't stop a kettle from boiling. Also, if he had personally announced the postponement I would still check the BBC website to be sure.

Its been known since early this week that last night and this weekend was going to have lots of heavy rain. Not using the covers makes me feel they didnt want this game to go ahead.

not always practical to use covers for rain, but there you go, but noticed that Exeter and Newport are also off, the wet weather system is this side of the country and possibly going to get worse, sensible early call, you can all go and watch PP's drive being built for something to do, i'm sure he will have covers there and tea/coffeee!!

Not just the rain. There's 50mph winds forecast. I'm just surprised there was no suggestion yesterday that it might be off.

Not sure we have covers to stop rain falling have we ? The underground springs are uncontrollable and make keeping the pitch from getting waterlogged very difficult. One assumes with all the catering arrangements for hospitality the last thing anyone would want is for the game not to go ahead, I think we've done pretty well in recent times to keep the games on, this time the weather has beaten us. Understand your disappointment but the weather has been exceptional the last few days. So if you're looking to point the finger of blame at anyone I suggest we all blame Roger

It's just simply disappointing . When we have been on a poor run I pray for a postponement but I fancied us for this one. It should give us a nice evening match and I enjoy those. A chance to make a midweek creep up the table in April!

It always makes me laugh when the club get blamed for it raining!
The forecast last night made it obvious this game would be in significant doubt, you can't cover a whole pitch during heavy rain because you'd just flood it and ultimately kill it.
Calling the game off early was actually a very good and fair decision, obviously if you've left very early you're going to be slightly inconvenienced but at least you won't have got very far. And if you are that guy that was flying back from wherever especially for this game, then life's a bitch.

We are not Wycombe Wanderers.

Absolutely no complaints about the decision today. It's very stormy here in Saltford and these conditions would make the game farcical. Still several hours to kick off and much more rain to follow. I'm sure all those Wombles are grateful too.

No way the game could be played without it being farcical in these conditions. Rovers have made the right decision.
