Love it!
We arrived in Durham at 11am just as the pubs opened! We'd had a few by kick off and the bloke who organised our coach was ejected from the ground before 3pm!! The Metro Centre wasn't a substitute for the game!!!

That was my first visit to St James Park. If ever you hear a Newcastle fan go on about how their crowds held up even during the bad times, remind him of the attendance that day!

those were the days, i feel sorry for our younger support not realising how good we were once even if it was a couple of seasons!
530 train from temple meads, a cracking day on the beer when lots of geordies were impressed we'd travelled so far to watch our team.
a fine win and singing the fog on the tynes all ours on the way back...

Was a Geordie bloke who ran a pub in Bristol went with his customers from the pub into the away end. No trouble but old bill were not happy!

I used to have my head office in Newcastle and they nicked our Holloway song. I'll never forget how well the Geordies spoke of us and it made a pleasant change to the usual of Bristol, is t that the place with no football team ?

What a day out that must've been!? 2-0 and a missed pen, looked like an awesome away trip! And that Newcastle 'best support in the world' thing is definitely a myth. The jokers.

2 car loads of us arrived in Chester-le-Street to find the pub hadn't opened. After much banging and shouting the landlord finally opened up for us saying "We don't normally have customers this early!". Traffic was murder on the way home, massive queues on the A1M, but with 3 point in the bag we didn't mind. Don't remember us missing the pen in the 1st half. Ossie Ardiles must have been fed up with the sight of us. We had beaten Swindon 2-1 2 weeks before, his last game as their manager if memory serves me correctly.

Stayed in Sunderland that night. Not as good as the toon, but the welcome you get more than makes up for it!
Besides, we stayed in Newcastle when we played the mackems. Those were the days!
