Just thought it best to say that the fixture has been changed to 12.30 kick off on request of the police. Something to do with the Rugby on at the same day.

Cool, closest game for me, only ten minutes away and no toll bridge fee to pay Wales are playing in the Rugby 6 Nations tournament at the Millenium Stadium Cardiff (although it's actually not called that anymore) the same evening.

It was never called the Millenium, Bridgy. True but that's what 'most' people called it . Ironically the building of it caused me to make my one and only visit to Trashton

LOL there's plenty of potential of crowd trouble then!!!!! There's plenty of Welsh people of Italian descent, you rarely if ever get 'crowd trouble' at rugby matches, although there were a few punches traded on the concourses I'm told at last years Wales v England game in Cardiff which England won.

I was there and did see a few fights break out, but it was more drunken behaviour than tribal, two blokes in front of me were really going for it ad both had Welsh shirts on.

Yes it wouldn't have been tribal, more likely parochial. Probably a 'townie' from Newport was being put down by a valley 'boy' from Ebbw Vale, they don't like one another much, in fact they don't like each other at all

They would ALWAYS fight with our lot and if they didn't then they would most definitely fight amongst themselves. It's quite interesting to read what was written about them by a monk who travelled extensively and in 3AD. The Welsh men are a lean race who are preoccupied by fighting and will practice with their spears and weapons and often in caves lol. Always guaranteed a superb boxing show in Wales & I would highly recommend going to the Newport and Merthyr professional promotions. True warriors.

Merthyr....the Wild West of South Wales You really aren't kidding. I have seen some fisticuffs after the boxing but I and Sophie have always been treated very well. I am gutted that the fights tonight have been called off so it's a double disappointment with the game being called off too.

Went to the grand daughters 18th birthday party in the Merthyr Labour Club, that was an experience in itself. Nice out of town shopping at the Cyfarthfa retail park though and Cyfarthfa Castle and grounds are well worth a visit if you're visiting this part of the world
