A really good read. I think that his work-rate and ball-control are the attributes that will stand him in good stead. The goals are unlikely to come at five every seven games (!), but nobody (well, apart from one) will get on his back if they can see the contribution he is bound to make to the team.

Absolutely, I think most people really rated rated him even before he had scored a goal for us, which is a bit unusual for a striker. As he showed against Orient, Rory looks just as comfortable playing alongside Easter as with Taylor which is a bonus!

A good read Nick. I don't see Taylor going anywhere just yet but you never know. I think he is only just coming to terms in this league and so, if anything, he may get another L2 club in for him but my gut feel says he stays. Gaffers needs back up and continued support. I hope we have learned from the JJOT experience that one man doesn't make a team but if he can continue to provide the nuisance factor then it looks good right now UTG

You could tell from his display in the game away to Exeter that he had something that we had been missing since Ryan Brunt got injured, someone who could lead the line and he has done that superbly in every game since. There was an immediate difference in our play when he was rested against Wimbledon and even more so against Barnet. His goals have come as a result of him becoming familiar with our game plan and our players becoming aware of how to play the ball to him. He seems the complete package, holds the ball up well, plays the ball off well, heads the ball on well, has great pace, has good stamina, has a great shot and can finish. If he stays fit and we keep him fit we could have a real bargain on our hands. I'm also hoping that someone like Harrison will learn from him, see how he plays and behaves on the pitch.

I must admit, Bridgeman, I did think of mentioning Ryan Brunt. Certainly when he was fit he was a real handful who could also score goals, as promotion-chasing teams like Port Vale found. We had high hopes for Brunt but it didn't work out because of injuries and things. I am hoping that Rory Gaffney becomes what Ryan could have been for us had he stayed fit.

I thought Tom Eaves was a decent player and he scored his first ever FL goal while with us. I was gutted that we couldn't sign him
