I thought Chapman played well for us early season, and don't really know why we didn't extend his loan. Presumably Nicholls was thought to be better - but he clearly wasn't. And how is Kieran Preston doing? I thought he looked useful pre-season. May not be ready for the step up right now, but in a few months? We've got pt Mildy until July come what may......

Did not rate Chapman Nicholls or Puddy ...Mildy is experienced and is more than capable at this level and the defence appears more confident with him as last line of defence.

The focus now needs to be identifying a permenant keeper to sign in the summer, it should be a given that Mildy retains the jersey until the end of the season when we shake hands and wish him well with what he decides to do next. Until then, we should give him our full support - he is the best keeper we have had all season.

But what could be interesting is whether or not Lee Nicholls will be surplus to requirements at Wigan after this season, as they are expected to sign Dan Lavercombe from Torquay in the transfer window, with the player then being loaned back to Torquay for the remainder of this season. Given that DC was such a fan of Nicholls when he signed him on loan for us, I wonder if he would be interested if the player became available?

Two solid games for me (only seen home matches) and deserves the accolades for being professional when he wasn't favoured, and now is.. I saw Mildy as one of the players who could possibly get into coaching with us and be part of what Liverpool used to call the boot room philosophy. He is very good in front of the media, is able to give intelligent and well thought out replies & seems to have an IQ that is above that of your average football player. It would seem that DC really doesn't see him in any role with the club, once his contract is up. I've always liked Mildy & I would hope that we all get behind him now. It really does no good in waiting to pounce upon any mistake he may make.
