Plenty of sheedheads trying to excuse it as well.
Something about, we are trying to have the memorial gates knocked down to build sainsburys?! Some, you just can't educate.

Is anyone actually surprised? I must start by saying that the vast majority of City fans are as disgusted as we are, and City as a club seem to have acted quickly, so fair play. But this is just the latest in a long line of incidents. It's not the first time the gates have been vandalised. Last time, they were joined by their Dutch friends for a spot of disrespecting the war dead. From setting fire to Twerton Park in the early hours of the morning, smashing up an empty pub in Cardiff, attacking a Harvesters in Bolton, and the graffiti just spells out what cowards a section of their support are. Not going to tar them all with the same brush, but they've always had this nasty (but not particularly brave) minority. Sadly both clubs have their share of idiots so no point pretending our lot are all all like Aled Jones and the 82ers are all Like Vinny Jones. Just very very sad that anyone could get enjoyment from doing this. I hear this a lot,but when have our fans burnt down a stand, defaced a memorial, attacked their players on the pitch, made threatening phone calls to one of their players. Had many a punch up with sh..heads back in the day,but only with like minded ones, never have I heard of our fans doing anything like the above.

Did anyone reply to set them straight, with a link to the plans, that shows they won't be knocked down, but rather enhanced in a Memorial Garden? I know it's difficult to educate some, but crap like this needs to be nipped in the bud.

I think we all know that both Bristol teams have fans that are more than ready to have a punch up, but this is different. There is no excuse for defacing a war memorial....again. There is no excuse for smashing up a pub in Cardiff where the only Welsh people there are the terrified bar staff. There is no excuse for attacking pubs in Bolton and Nottingham where no opposition 'lads' are drinking. This isn't an isolated incident. Anyone remember the murdered cats who belonged to a Rovers family living in south Bristol? Rovers fans are not angels, we have more than our fair share of lads ready to mix it, but I hope none would ever stoop this low. I don't buy the teenagers drunk on cider theory. Where can you buy a red spray can in the early hours? I would think it was premeditated and they would be at an age where they would have known what they were doing. As I've already said, most City fans are disgusted by this. But there are a few on OTIB trying to wriggle out of it and suggest that it was Rovers fans who did it, including one of their Admins.

That last part really is the most pathetic part of all. So blinded by the love for their (s***house) club they believe supporters of BRFC would do it to try and stitch them up. Only a spineless moron would avoid condemning it, some not even big enough to do that. Not sure how many more times it can get passed off as the old 'it was only a mindless minority who probably aren't real supporters anyway'.

Instead of City fans paying for the gates to be professionally cleaned(laudable), wouldn't it be more just for those who did it to be seen spending every day of their school holidays "cleaning" it. These animals actually go to school? If they do I wonder and fear for our education system. Absolutely! The punctuation is horrendous!

How many times can these things happen, spread over a 30+ year period, (burning down grounds, defacing or 'adding' to the Memorial Gates) & it be written off because it's a so-called tiny minority? I don't know, other than getting it cleaned up what do you suggest?

There are anti graffiti paints and coating available. www.antigraffitipaint.co.ukDoesn't it strike you as ironic that millions are paid out for wall art (which this isnt) when done by Banksy &Co, maybe that sends the wrong message to these idiots whose I.Q is one less than a carrot.

Not sure how many more times it can get passed off as the old 'it was only a mindless minority who probably aren't real supporters anyway'. This 'not real supporters' and not in our name' bollocks really annoys me. Of course they are sh1theads, they spelt it out in the graffiti on the memorial for Christ sake. How about instead of this 'not real fans' rubbish they grow a pair and take responsibility for it instead of passing the buck. And that doesn't just go for them down the road, it goes for our horse-punchers and coach-boarders as well. Of course they are fans of their respective teams and when this crap happens you just have to accept that one of your own has been a total dickhead and try and shame them into growing up. It's a lot easier just to say they're not real fans and throw a couple of pennies at it though of course. I did also have to laugh at that city flog Cideread on the Post website comments suggesting that our supermarket 'desecration' of the memorial was in the same league as what his bunch of idiots had done. Last I looked we'd consulted the British Legion about the plans for the gates and the memorial garden and they had actively agreed to the proposal. I wonder if those csf wannabes thought to give the Legion a call to check if they minded it being spray painted in profanities before they went ahead with their hilarious prank. What a joker.
