Apologies for the lack of updates on this recently - I've been on holiday so a lot of stuff has been going on in the background, rather than in public. As I'm sure everyone understands, to get the infrastructure of the association finalised, there's been a lot of dull admin that's had to be done before any formal launch. There is going to be a meeting of people who have been involved or who want to get involved this weekend, either the 7th or 8th - please do let us know on this thread if you'd like to come, because although lots of the admin behind the set up has had to be done by a small group of people, achieving change at the club will require the buy-in of as much of the fanbase as possible, as well as the support of the fans in keeping the association going. For those of you wondering exactly what has had to be done, the following has been achieved: - Website created
- Social media presences established
- Permission gained from the ICO to hold personal information
- Registered addresses established
- A draft set of campaigns written (to be ratified by members at a future date)
- A formal constitution has been created
- Links with local media to promote BRISA
Clearly people will have input on what should or shouldn't have been done, so if you want to voice any concerns, feel free to do so in this thread or by coming to the meeting this weekend.
We were hoping to launch a little earlier than this, but we've felt that it was far more important to do it properly than to launch an association with no aims, no strategy and no structure. Obviously the other meeting happening on the 10th has meant that we've wanted to announce things on here and reassure people that preparations are ongoing.

The website isn't completely finalised yet - I just need to make sure that all the legal information with regards to BRISA is sorted. It will be available shortly though, after which I'll put the link up here

Sounds fantastic, clearly a heck of a lot of work being put in by a number of people.

Will be doing my best to get to the meeting on the 10th. We've been talking to Jon and Mark and hoping they may be able to attend ours on the 8th too.

This really is fantastic stuff guys. If only the football club was run with this level competence and professionalism then we wouldn't be in the Conference.

I know it's taking a while and ideally things would have been ready to go shortly after the end of the season, but it's a choice between rushing things and having no structure to back it up, or doing something over a longer period of time to make sure it's done properly. No doubt people will still have criticisms and feedback after launch, but that's all good and will only help to make sure that it's as good as it can be. I've probably stressed this far too many times already, but if people have strong opinions on how it's all going to work, let me know and we're happy for more people to get involved!

I like the thumbs up feature, should reduce those fatuous replies of; precisely or absolutely or some smiley or other.
Yes, I now like this format for the forum following some early uncertainty, especially the ease of the video links.
Well done to everyone involved, and thanks for taking the trouble. Nice work

How many members do you think you'll need to have any clout ? Surely it's gotta be a minimum of 500 ?

I think I would like to get involved down the line, but simply don't have time in the next 4 or 5 months

Given that BRISA hasn't even opened to membership yet though, you'll have to wait and see what the take up from fans wanting change is. If nobody signs up, then we'll have our answer as to how much of the fanbase wants change

It'll be in the afternoon I think - haven't settled on a venue yet because I'm unsure how many will be attending, but most likely somewhere near the Mem.
