No doubt he is our main goal threat & is a talent, but it really is amazing what one hat trick can do for a dude!

Well I guess the options are a) sell in January, b) wait till summer and let him go go for nowt, c) don't sell in January, improve and extend his contract and see what happens in the close season. Or I guess he could elect to stay (like Brown did) but I guess that may depend on how our season pans out.

Sounds like his agent is boosting his value ahead of contract negotiations...

"the club wish Taylor / Lockyer / Leadbitter all the best at Crewe / Barnsley / Oldham, its a great move for them, and as we have Harrison / Clarke / err some kid ready to come straight into the team ,the money can be spent on the court case / redecorating the directors box / a week for the directors and their familes in Spain for the Sabadell friendly ".

I'm in the 'agent talk' camp but if Taylor really did go to a 'big' club with on a large transfer fee that would be an amazing bit of business by Rovers and DC if you look at it from the trajectory of the player. Also, it's not really Rovers choice at that point - if a club from a higher division come in with a decent offer then Taylor will leave. We're a League 2 football club - there's nothing to be gained by clinging on to a guy who would then walk for free in the Summer especially as we signed him for nowt and it would potentially sour relations. Like anything else like this - it wouldn't be the selling that mattered most (that would be inevitable) but what we did afterwards.

Sounds like his agent is boosting his value ahead of contract negotiations... All we need to do is invite his agent in for talks and set up a huge screen behind the desk showing re-runs of people in the crowd getting hit by wayward shots last season.

It's nothing to do with one hat trick, it's 18 months of quality, top scorer last season, top scorer this season in his first ever at football league level. The only thing the hat-trick has done is wake up those that continued to doubt him, but he's already proven himself way before the game against Wycombe. Why on earth would he want to stay with us come January? The club is a shambles and the majority of the fanbase have treated him like s***e. He could go straight into a top 10 league 1 team and make a contribution, and i see no reason why Championship clubs wouldn't want him as part of there squad. He's out of contract in the summer so any offer of £300k and above would be hard to turn down, and the modern world of football is peanuts for clubs even at league 1 level.

There's no doubt he's adapting to League Two very well of late but he's a long way off being Championship standard.

the problem for rovers is they wont get a great offer with 6 months left on his contract,,,with regards to the championship i can only see a sruggling team like rotherham bolton or bristol city looking at him.

It's just a "let's find the next Vardy " hunt. The BBC had an article about some low league scorer as well. Well that's my thought.
If he does not sign new contract in Jan do we a) keep playing him b) sell him c) okay time to give someone else a chance, just not play him?

This season's kit is the smartest I've seen for years. Taylor should wait a year because he'd be worth more as a League 1 player.

All we need to do is invite his agent in for talks and set up a huge screen behind the desk showing re-runs of people in the crowd getting hit by wayward shots last season. He`ll be gone soon enough, Bamber. Then you can enjoy watching Jermaine Easter trying to do the things that Taylor does now.
