This won't make any sense to those under 45: the Subbuteo team is Blackburn Rovers, but captioned Bristol Rovers.

As a child in the 1950s I was always fascinated by Blackburn Rovers, mostly because of the fact that they were also named Rovers, and their colours which were so very similar to our own. They had an excellent young centre-half playing for them by the name of Mike England, who went on to play for Spurs of course, Derek Dougan (but he seemed to play for everyone ). But my favourite was Ronnie Clayton, but don't ask me why because I only had newspaper reports to go on at the time, as it was pre-MOTD.

I remember those well, Mike England (rather ironically) also played for Wales

I thought you might enjoy this, an interview with him recorded on the Spurs podcast in 2012 . . . thehotspurspodcast.podbean.com/2012/05/
