SteveK is talking about individual performances, you are talking about the result. Do you need someone to explain the difference? I think SteveK got it about right, we were very good but we drew - sh1t happens. If that many players were that good then maybe, just maybe we would have come away with more than 1 point. The way this forum is heading, a player will get 9/10 for winning the toss. your worried that "rose tinters" are infecting the normal status of relentless negativity on this forum,,,why not come over to the bright side bamber?

Because celebrating mediocrity and hoping that players will gel / refs will give us a break / our luck will change etc etc has worked so well, hasn't it.

Can you have an opinion on it? Asking for a friend. 1. Yes. 2. Yes, I think so, as long as that's OK with you? 3. Get your friend to ask for him/herself. Ref the performance, do you remember Barnet the year we got relegated with them? Lovely to watch, not the biggest or strongest of teams but competed all over the field, played the ball into space etc etc, but couldn't score and almost always conceded. I'm not saying that we'll get relegated this year, but unless we sort out the 2 primary objectives of the game (score and don't let goals in) then everything else is a bit academic. But don't worry, you'll get a break from my Clarke/player bashing. Even if we get slaughtered tonight (we won't, we'll win this game) I'll be ranting about what a horrible, scabby, disgusting club Wycombe are and how players should be ashamed to wear that shirt and supporters embarrassed to follow them.

Bambi, you'd better keep away from the football comments. You are embarrassing yourself with your ignorance; and the rest of us. Stick with the Higgs-bashing, eh. (Hope that's not too "academic" for you?)

I don't remember Barnet the year we got relegated with them. What year was that? Of course, they got relegated the previous season, my mistake. So nothing about the fact that they played Champions League football, playing the ball across the back 4, being patient, looking for space etc, but still couldn't score and always conceded counts.

I don't think that many people are denying that we need a partner for Matty Taylor who actually scores goals occasionally, or that we need the rest of the team to chip in a few more.
But is it impossible to have a good performance in spite of that?

Yes, and of course it's subjective, but so many high marks don't reflect what actually happened, in my opinion.

I'd say that was a full house of 8's tonight..... Thumped them once again. They must have left the 'nice, lovely, attractive football' back in Bucks!

I'd say that was a full house of 8's tonight..... Thumped them once again. They must have left the 'nice, lovely, attractive football' back in Bucks! First half 7s all round maximum, maybe 8 for Parkes as he did everything well, no fuss, no fancy stuff, just got the ball away from danger without giving fouls away. 2nd half, for work rate, organisation, and mixing play up so Scabby FC didn't know if we were going long or passing to feet, they can all have 8s, apart from Nicholls who didn't have a shot on target to save, so 7 for him, and 10 for Matty Taylor, simply superb performance. I'm pretty sure that he scored 4, hopefully replays will clear that up. And Paris CowanHall who gets marked down for this comment, copied from WW official site; Clarke can also have 8, first half was total stalemate, but he sorted it out at half time. Lino in front of East Terrace can have 2, he missed everything, pointless him bothering to turn up if he wasn't going to make an effort to watch what was happening.

Lino flagged offside a Wycombe player in first half whom was definitely onside, and stayed consistent. I'm glad he turned up on occasions!
