The club lurches from one crisis to another. He has made it clear that if they don't perform to a certain level then they will be gone. I have no doubt the players will be still there and getting it big time.

Problem is KP if DC's budget is so restricted then surely his hands are tied when it comes to having the clear out now seemingly needed? As you posted earlier why has the goalie issue become such a big problem? Mildenhall clearly has no future at Rovers and I can't honestly see a fit Puddy being up to league football, so why didn't DC sign a replacement goalie, unless he hopes to sign Nicholls in January? It's odd how away from home he hardly concedes any goals but at the Mem he gives one away virtually every game. Although we should really be beating the likes of Chesham easily at home not worrying because they scored a soft goal.

I can't help but think Nicholls is making too many mistakes. I think the GK thing has been badly managed. Sorry but that is my only criticism of DC. After seeing his interview, I think he now sees that his options of changing things are close to running out. We all said Newport was a bad day and moved on but only to suffer what I believe to be a worse result, given the quality of opposition. I actually feel bad criticising him for the GK pulava but I think it's true

No, not at all and I didn't even intimate that but each makes their own assumption of what I write. I can't sit and explain what people read between the lines but, we have had 2 budget cuts this season and after 2 last season. I do believe us to have a poor budget in comparison to other clubs of our size. DC has said he had identified and talked to players but couldn't compete against clubs who, on paper, are smaller.

Difference is DC was given a Conference budget last season and now we're back in Div 2 it's apparently been cut again. Plus DC still has the likes of Mildenhall, McChrystal, Parkes & Harrison on the payroll from JW's high spending era. What's the betting they are earning double, or more, the likes of Sinclair & Taylor? NH/Sainsbury's/Wonga are bleeding the club dry.

Seriously? Those would be the budget cuts last season that allowed Clarke to retain a decent L2 defence and keeper and bring in Lines and Easter I presume?

To come to Nicholls' defence, to a degree, the ball was moving all over the place.
You can't pick this up on the TV coverage, and many in the ground won't have been able to tell either. Nicholls moved to his left post, as the ball appeared to be going in that direction, then the ball swerved towards his right side. He tried to scramble across, but it was too late.
This might only have been clear from the Dribield / Centenary / East side.
Anyone remember that Andy Gurney strike at Twerton? Well their No.9 "put a bit of swazz on it.".
Still, however the ball was moving, you should keep it out from that distance.

I agree, he hit it with massive swerve....i was right behind it in east terrace It still beat him from distance, he saw it all the way, ended up in centre of goal, seemed to go under his arms. Liability. Not first costly mistake. For all the criticism Milds got, be consistent and now it's time to look elsewhere for a number 1.

It's pointless talking about saves, when basic, and i mean basic errors cost us games. You have to at least do the basics, and hope they are good enough to do the extra stuff. Dont congratulate keeper on a pen save when a schoolboy error cost us. This is what keepers have to do. and strikers have to score goals - but did they??

Anyone mentioned James Clarke's so called defending for the winner yet?? any one even slightly interested in football, knows you show the attacker down the wing and not let him cut inside.
Not only did he do that, he dropped off & left for him someone else to sort out. Leaving a free shot on goal in slippy conditions with acres of space. He certainly needs a slice of the blame for that particular incident, but the short sighted will always look at the keeper and keeper only.
Just another fine example of the lack of respect shown to the visitors, almost daring them to have a crack.

Though he did have another player bombing outside yesterday which appeared to make him think about marking him. So yes some blame to him but should someone from midfield also been tracking back. The old Gerry Francis tactic used to be show players inwards into traffic! But agree Clarke's defending looked poor..

Par for the course I knew it was a mistake saying anything as this is what happens. People simply HAVE to know who, what and where. I am not prepared to say but this really is the last time I make that mistake.
