Why would we be ''skint''? Crowds held up very well last season, remarkable really considering how few teams brought a reasonable number of supporters with them, then we had play offs and Wembley, there must be a lot more cash in the bank than we expected. Surely you of all posters can't have overlooked the Wonga loan which is costing us £30K a month in interest payments alone and, should we lose the Appeal, we have to somehow starting paying down the capital we have borrowed. £30k per month would probably pay for 3 or 4 top quaility Div 2 players. We were also told relegation would cost £1m whether promotion lessened that loss is that clear yet. Last I heard the Wonga loan wasn't going to affect playing budget, or did I just imagine Higgs saying that? Players were brought in who you would assume were on lower wages, the attendances held up, the parachute payment was in place, then there were sell outs for the last 2 home games and Wembley. If we lost money last season then whoever does the financial planning should be shown the door double quick time.

And I'm also expecting that in the event of the club being sold, a binding confidentiality clause will be inserted into the contract, so we'll never know the answers to many of the questions that we may presently have. That is assuming of course, that the chairman does ever find a person/consortium who is prepared to purchase the club (debts and liabilities included, of course) , and who he is willing to sell the club to. On one level all of this is do-able, but then again . . . is the necessary will there to produce a result?
