Lee Brown's 200th Gas appearance seems to have passed us all by.
One of the most remarkable moments of the JPT match vs Wycombe happened at kick-off, but didn't even get a mention. Whilst strikers and young starlets are endlessly debated in modern football the wonderful simplicity surrounding our longest serving player was summed up when Lee Brown's 200th appearance for the Gas wasn't even noticed. Not only is the ever dependable, and never injured, Mr. Brown our only player to play every minute of our season so far, but this man is a true stalwart, and at barely 25 years old still has years ahead of him. A double century of games in itself is quite a feat considering his debut only came four years ago, on the 6th of August 2011, the televised season opener that marked AFC Wimbledon's first ever game in the Football League.
All hail our own soul sensation, the hardest working man in football, Lee James Brown.

Does anyone know if Soccerbase includes the FA Trophy?

it is wrong. It doesn't include the FA Trophy, which Lee played in last season. It also has a discrepancy with the official BRFC site as it lists 1 less lge appearance than the BRFC website stats. If BRFC are right, Wycombe was his 200th appearance. If Soccerbase is right (AFTER adding in the FA Trophy, which is definitely wrong), it was Mansfield Town. I would humbly suggest the point is that he has 100% reached over 200 appearances and deserves a lot of accolades for that. And he's the only player left this season who has played every minute of this season (The Beard was with him but got subbed vs Wycombe)

I think that Soccerbase also excludes FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round game at Dorchester.

He's proved himself to be a real gem. Plus, I love the fact that he could have walked away when we lost our Football League status (he had offers from League clubs that were higher placed than we had been), but elected to stay with us in the Conference. Not too many players would have done that, and no-one could have blamed him if he had decided to leave.
He deserves a little success in his career.

Lee rarely gets the credit he deserves. Not only dependable as a defender, but a real attacking threat as an overlapping full back.
His loyalty to the club after relagation out of the league is another point that will make him a Rovers legend.
200 games at 25 - could he even push Stuart Taylor's record?

Great left back. Capable of pin point free kicks. Mr. Dependable.
Well done and thanks Lee.

Great post, MM.
I'll never criticise LB for choosing to stick with us in our darkest hour.
A true gem.

A seriously good dude, as others have said.
He could play higher but he seems the kind of guy that having made the decision to stick it out with us would probably have become pretty settled in Bristol by now (we hope).
Top of my favs list. Doesn't count for much as I've only followed since 2012 but w/e.

Lee has 3 qualities that are almost gone from the modern game, loyalty, passion and reliability. He seems a very genuine and likeable guy, who seems like he enjoys his football, and off the field seems to have settled in very well to living in Bristol. I'm not saying Lee is going to be a one club man, but it would great if he stayed with us for another few seasons and pushed towards 400 appearances, even then he would only be 28/29 and young enough to still get a really good move elsewhere if that's what he wanted.
