Quality from the Gas channel there! Bit of light hearted fun, just what's required!

Mansfield were thoroughly unpleasant, to put it politely; I have no issue with physicality where appropriate but they took the piss! I don't know whether they were riled up with pre-match nonsense but on a different day and with a better ref they could have easily ended up with less than 9 men - a couple of elbows going completely unpunished, Benning's yellow could have easily been a red (and probably should have, I'd be interested to see it again).
Still, being in a battle made the 3 points even sweeter! Great game and few more ghosts exorcised!

It's interesting reading the comments on here and then having a look at the bitterness on stagsnet forum. They completely blame us for gamesmanship and the ref for falling for it.We are also described as *very ordinary* and a *nothing team*.They are now glad they sent us down to the Conf and you have to dig quite deep to find any comments which accept their sendings off were justified.

was the second disallowed ? Yes that was the disallowed goal. Didn't look outside from the camera angle but Taylor didn't seem shocked when it was ruled offside from the clip. Regretfully that was a low spot for me. I had the shame of celebrating the goal whilst looking up to the sky in praise, only to have the lad in front of me tap me to say disallowed. It's just plain embarrassing!

Will both teams be charged with failing to control their players?

"Showed real fight today against a weak willed ref and disgraceful opponents." These morons are too much!

Will both teams be charged with failing to control their players? Will the ref be charged for not knowing how to ref the game ?

Certainly a lot for the powers that be to study in that incident.

Will both teams be charged with failing to control their players? I would not be surprised, but I hope someone has the common sense to look at who the aggressors were. Hunt in particular felt as though he could take the law into his own hands, but there was a real discipline issue with the Stags yesterday. Having said that, I quite like the approach Rugby refs adopt - stand back and let the handbags go on for a while and take action later.

I've just viewed the highlights and my first thought is that we scored one good goal, and one excellent goal yesterday. The second is particularly worthy of comment because of the quality of the first-time cross, and the pin-point finish by Matt Taylor. It was a bit like watching a training ground move, but it really is refreshing to see the two strikers both on the scoresheet once again. Jermaine Easter (with all of his experience) should never have allowed himself to get involved in that situation in the penalty area, but never in this world did he deserve a straight red. And what happened afterwards was a disgrace, and is worthy of an investigation of its own. McGuire pulling Easter to his feet before Hunt pushed him off the pitch . . . and Easter got the red. And it all occurred within feet of the referee. But then again if that incident were to be investigated, then what about all of the other incidents in the game? Nicky Hunt in particular appeared to be ''pumped-up,'' perhaps he was thinking of his time spent in Bristol playing for the other mob. He certainly seems to have bulked up a bit since that time, but he did remind me of ''Razor'' Ruddock in his heyday . . . but only by appearance, not ability.

Not sure Easter should have saw a red but i don't see much chance of it being overturned, he moves aggressively head first towards the player even if he doesn't go for a headbutt and that will probably be seen as intent. Harrisons isn't as stupid as I was expecting, just looks like he's trying to keep the guy away from Lockyer as he looked like he was about to go for him, still a yellow but not malicious from Ellis. Mansfield on the other hand looked like they were looking for something extra in every challenge, their player dragging Sinclair to the ground should have been a booking at the least. Good all in all to see a win come out of this game even if it was ugly.

Actually if you look at the penalty incident it was a ridiculous attempt by their centre half to block Easters attempt and he may have actually been caught by the players back after he slid through. I don't think its as clear cut as people are saying as it happened so quick but really why would he dive when he actually had left the player on the floor with a good chance to score.

That dive was a shocker wasn't it. Bet he'll even receive some banter from the rest of our team in training.

Yea so Easter got sent off not for diving but for retaliation on a verbal insult on himself.
I'm not condoning it, but at least he gives a fig.
It's not about old enough to know better, it's about a bullying Mansfield team that persistently fouled and off ball antics grabbed attention.
Everyone can clearly see Easter being man handled after the incident, with no redress, which demonstrates Mansfield motives.
Ok, sent off......I'm sorry about that......but more importantly, the man has passion and desire. It was brewing v Wycombe with their number2, he has a streak in him.
Fantastic, I say..

Sorry but he is a seasoned professional who has played at a far higher level than most of our team, taking out his frustration on a player clearly trying to wind him up is poor in my opinion, he's no good to us unless he is on the pitch, there's a time and a place for aggression but only if it brings about a positive result for us. As it is he appeared to cheat and if he had got away with it would probably unfairly got an opponent either booked or sent off. As a 'one eyed' supporter of Bristol Rovers, would I have condoned an opposition forward doing that to one of our defenders, no I wouldn't have but neither should I condone it from one of our own. Sorry, I just don't like cheats, even those wearing the blue and white quarters.
