Other than Kidderminster away (where he still missed a sitter) I'm struggling to think of a game where he made an important contribution. I'm hoping if he does come back, I will be as wrong about him as I was about Jason Roberts. Chester away, Nuneaton away, Welling home, Macclesfield home, Lincoln home? I assume that was the games he scored in? I was at Nuneaton away, and vaguely remember him scoring, although my main memory of that day is struggling to find the pub on a satnav, and nearly freezing to death.
I wasn't at any of the others I'm afraid, so maybe I made him nervous and he reserved his better performance for when I was elsewhere! Come to think of it, I wasn't at the home game v Kiddy when apparently he played a blinder for them, so maybe it is my fault after all
Anyway, as I said, I really hope he proves me wrong, I heard him interviewed a couple of times, and he appeared to be a decent bloke with a good attitude.

I guess his future depends on how DC sees Lucas fitting into the squad - as a leader of the line he could be considered a replacement for Bliss!

But I'm not sure the issue is Blissett as a leader of the line - just whether he fits into the squad we currently have or not. People see big guy and think he must therefore lead the line but that doesn't strike me as his natural game. Leading the line implies playing a lot of the time with your back to goal whereas from what I've seen of Blissett his main strength is picking it up relatively deep and running at defender causing chaos as they try to stop him.

Spot on, that is how he played for Kiddie against us. He is not a big target man for those long hopeful punts from the defence or an off the shoulder merchant.

I think the question though is whether that's ultimately enough - he probably does need to develop more strings to his bow.

Tranmere are not taking up the option of a further loan and he is returning to us according to a Tranmere fan posting on the other forum. Also said that Bliss did one good thing and that was score at Grimsby,he also thought he was not going to make it at L2 level.

Bliss only played the first half last night before being sub at half time, it's no surprise he's returning and you do wonder where he goes next?

I say give him a chance, surely it won't hurt us too much to try and give him a game or two. It's not like we have unquestionable starters up front

Not sure what's wrong with Lucas but we need some physical presence up front, Bliss may not be the most skilful of players but is a handful for most CB's and could create more clear cut chances, directly or indirectly.

Unfortunately Bliss isn't a handful for anyone. The guy is huge but probably the softest centre forward I have ever seen. All that weight, height & build and he doesn't put any of it about.

I think he could be. He has the potential to use his stature to best of his ability but he hasn't been given any form of a chance in tho league so all anyone can do at best is surmise..

Where was he yesterday, does anyone know?
I believe that his loan with Tranmere has come to an end, so theoretically he is back with us, but he didn't feature in any capacity yesterday. Perhaps he was given the day off, who knows?
Did anyone see him at the Mem yesterday?

I still can't see how Bliss could be worse than Taylor's been in his last 2 home games, it's all a bit odd how Bliss can't even make the bench but gets a run out every match!

Saw him score at Nuneaton last season.Great header. However ,fits into our current mediocre contingent category.

He should've been credited v Nuneaton with more as Mansell put ball in on the line, but it was Bliss header that won the goal...when as last time we had someone good in air up front? Exactly...long time ago...yet we still insist on hoof ball! Crazy tactics..

He was used to do the half time draw yesterday so is obviously back with us but because of the poor sound system you couldn't hear what he said about his return. He won't use his physical attributes to bully defenders as he has said he isn't that type of player so unfortunately expecting him to be more forceful in his play won't be something we can expect.

Thanks, Bridgeman. Couldn't quite hear where I was. Forcefully playing can adopt many aspects. I'm not expecting him to be a bully, but the goal he scored against us for Kiddie, we are screaming out for. Run from deep on a corner and decent header on goal.. When did we last have that threat?

I keep thinking where is that player who played for Kiddiminster against us ? I was at the Chester away game when he scored a great goal for us but we haven't seen much of that since although he scored a couple of decent goals for us in preseason against Salibury when he played with Jamie Lucas and you know what I think of him, is DC missing something ?
